How many RWKW do you have with what mods?
Hi all,
Just thought it would be good to see what power you have from doing what mods?
List your model, dyno figure and mods to achieve that power.
Mine is close to stock and has not seen a dyno so I won't be participating, yet!
Saying that I'm sure others would also like to know how to increase their power output and it would give us an appreciation of the work done (and money spent) as we could see the power that those mods give.

Waste of time unfortunately as dyno aren't accurate between units.

Sure Dyno A may yield a different result to Dyno B but it's still gives us noobs an idea of effective mods.

How else do you measure the power gain from any given mod? Feel, acceleration times?
I'm not fussy, just want to know what to do next...

How about this..
122mph trap speed.
Na6, GT2560r, poncam eequivalents, nitrodann turbo setup, megasquirt 2 PNP, nitrodann tune and e85, fuel system to match.
Dynod at 250rwkw for those who want to play it that way.

Re: How many RWKW do you have with what mods?
However
allow me to polish my nob first. not necessarily hardest.....but none the less. First.
turn up the volume.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dN4IY68NVwo
so let me think what that was.
errr....
cams 272 deg
adaptronic. can't recall what it was called
some fancy adjustable cam sprockets.
Wide Mania intake.
geanie headers
2 1/4 inch exsaust
don't recall many of the settings. like intake & exsaust on the cam sprokets.
but above 5k rpm....it was poetry
what this doesn't tell you is that she was a total cow to drive in slow traffic.
I eventually ripped out the Adaptronic & ran it on the Standard ECU. Bit rough on idle .....but she was soooo sweet. prolly lost between10-15 rwkw. but never put her on the dyno to check.
but If I was to do it again.....Id get cams for sure....the right cams though

Ok let me give you an example. I put xyz in and got 100kw, the next person comes along and has fitted xyz plus ab and make 98 kW on a different dyno.
How does that info become useful it just confused things. Dynos can read 15 kW difference on a naturally aspirated mx5 with similar mods.

Well we have had my brothers na6 on 3 different dynos.
84rwkw, 85rwkw and 86rwkw.
I think that is pretty darn close especially for different days??
Car has exhaust, intake, cams, high comp pistons, rods, balanced, stock valve train, 7500rpm, stock injectors, ms2 tuned ourselves

Re: How many RWKW do you have with what mods?
Max speed is a good pointer. Mine maxes out at 194kmh on a logger at Philip Island on a calm day at 20C, which works out at around 83-84rwkw.
Stock NA8 block, balanced, NB pistons, original Loch Stewart CAI. 4-2-1 into a 2.25" exhaust, DIY ports clean-up and mild chamber reshaping, Performance Springs valve springs, OEM Mazda ECU with remapped fuel and timing (EPROM, socketted), 7600rpm limit - home tuned with a Bosch wideband and Innovate data logger.
Temperature is a huge factor. That's partly why dyno readings are so variable. This car maxes out at 155kmh at Wakefield on a cool morning and 145kmh on a hot afternoon.

Some basic figures to use as a 'rule of thumb'
There are of course, too many variables to also factor in (current engine health, tune etc etc)

The most accurate HP measure is max speed over a given distance.
This is why many people use trap speed, as in my example.

Re: How many RWKW do you have with what mods?
However I have a NA6 supercharged making 190rwhp
You can get a lot more power from a Turbo,
But Turbo's are a common as Holdens I wanted to try something that evry man and his dog didn't have
Just my opinion ..

Old motor 174rwkw.
New motor with way more mods and 150rwkw feels way quicker.

Yeah, this morning, but nothing beats trap speed over the quarter.
