I'm registered in 2A (Britney is back!!!)
Entry #135 and I was an EOI as I didn't register last year.

Our Supercharge NC is in 6C
Entry #134 and was registered last year

So it appears to be on first in basis the only priority is numbering, if you ran last year you get to keep your number. New entrants in 2017 have to wait for number allocation.

It will be good to see Britney back in competition - she is so much more rewarding to drive on track than my stockish NB8A.

As of this morning, 19 spots left!

Bob's email:
I would like to let you know that to date I have received 211 registrations in just over one week. As you are know there is a limit of 230 registrations in 2017. So, if you haven’t already registered and would like to do so, I would suggest that you do so quickly as there only 19 positions left.

Just in case anyone is still preparing their response to Bob's email inviting registrations, the Supersprints website carries a notice dated 21st December stating registrations have closed, the 230 entries allowed having been reached.

I also note that Supp Regs are available for Rd1, but that entries are, unsurprisingly, not yet open.

Bugger!
I only started thinking about getting back into motorsport during 2016 and considered another 240Z but decided a MX-5 would be more fun.
Got one on 29th December and immediately joined the club.
I have loked at the Supersprint regs and decided to go type 1
Now i see that the supersprint championship is fully subscribed.

Not being a Championship entrant will not stop you from entering any of the Supersprint rounds. Championship entrants are given early access for entry but there are usually around a dozen or so non-Championship entrants too. It's a good way to experience a variety of different circuits and gauge your speed against other competitors in the class/type you intend to target ... without committing to the whole season.

You need to lodge an EOI for 2017 to stand any chance of getting accepted for 2018. The EOI is available HERE.

How did the first round go?
I did hear that entrants didn't get many laps.
Is it good value compared to club track days?
I haven't started yet and will do some club track days first but i am wondering about supersprints orwhether to skip that step and go straight to MX-5 cup if i can get below 1:16 at Wakefield.

Only two clubs have done the hat-trick - NSWRRC and us. No Club has yet won four on the trot. We are positioned to do that, having just completed the hat-trick. To do it in the face of the changes to the classes, well let's just say it isn't going to be easy.

Against that, it was not easy winning this year - we had to fight ARDC all the way but thanks to the big effort put in by the Club's registrants, we did it.

...

Four-peat? Why not!

Rd1 has been run, and ... it is looking ok for us. Not great, to get a result this year will require a sustained effort, but the new class structure has not hurt us as badly as some feared.

At SMP GP yesterday we had 5 class winners (hats off to Bryan, Jason, Scott, David and Phil), and five second places (well done to Michael, Gus, Luke, Jamie, and Greg). All told we had 25 point scorers, compared to 28 last year, highlighting that on average, each driver is scoring better than last year. In fact at SMPGP (Rd2) last year we had only four class winners and only one second place.

We are 19 points down to ARDC (570 to 551), on what is their home track. Wakefield is next, the Club's home round. Can we reverse that gap at Rd2 - that is in the hands of our registrants ...

Yesterday's event was affected by on-track incidents, including one at T1 (fortunately no injury), but we got the minimum four runs in. Due to the heat, many started putting their cars away early, including this little brown duck, but the MX5-filled group was notable for being the least affected by early departures.

Overall, a successful day for us.

Nuddy, see above.

This is a State-level competition, and it is about competing at that level, not lap counts (though we will always take more of those than less). Some competitors do track days, State supersprints, and MX5 Cup, or some combination, so that is always an option.

Good value? I'll let you decide that, but you can see where I am voting
