Recently bought an almost complete engine - NA8, 94-95 I think, off ebay. Plan is to build a replacement for current poor oil pressure unit. Possibly a grey import unit.
Just noticed an oddity on the back of the head (BP05) - round ally disc ~12mm dia, with a bit of grey non-hardening gasket around it, with the words 'Guarantee Void if removed' around the edge.
Anybody ever seen anything like this before?

It lets the reconditioner know if the engine overheated.

Ok, good. What changes if it has overheated?

Side note is your low oil pressure unit based of the stock gauge. They are notoriously inaccurate.

It's called a heat tab. The center will melt if the head gets too hot. In case there is a failure of the head. Lots of engine reconditioners use them.
