Adjuster extenders for Teins?
So it’s kind of annoying having to gut the boot if I want to adjust my rear coilovers.
Has anybody made up some sort of flex drive to allow an adjustment knob to poke out through the lining?
I’ve done some googling and all I can find is stuff for BC, but nothing that will fit my Teins.
Not really interested in the EDFC unless it’s super cheap.
Anyway, has anyone made something up that does the job?
At the moment I’m thinking of seeing if I can adapt one of those flex drives for a drill/ratchet but I’m not sure if it would have too much flex in it to actually let me feel the clicks of each adjustment notch.
Has anybody made/bought anything similar that would do the job?

I permanently removed all that boot lining panel and carpet instead. It gives you a heap more small item and tools storage space!

and makes it much more exciting if the now bare metal boot contains a stray wheel nut which becomes loose on the bumpy part of the main straight at Sandown then flies around under brakes and into turn one.
I'd been wondering where it was, so pretty quickly realised what it was, but my passenger was convinced we were losing a back wheel at 190kmph.

Gutting the boot is the simplest, but I want to keep it there for aesthetics.

I use something very similar to these http://justjap.com/suspension/coilover-suspension/bc-racing-coilover-suspension/bc-racing-extender-250mm-v1-and-er-series.html. It will depend on knob size what will fit. If you can measure its size and let me know I will see what size my knob is and we can compare sizes..... So much innuendo!

Those are exactly what I was thinking.
I'll do some knob measuring tonight and let you know, the knobs on them arent that big, but my excuse is that it's cold

In all seriousness they're about 10mm diameter knurled knobs off the top of m head, but i'll grab the calipers and do a proper measure.

I'll measure mine (in the warmer weather) this afternoon before I load the car on the trailer and let you know. BC Racing make 2 sizes of the extenders.

Keep any eye out on fleabay/gumtree for EDFC kits. They come up occasionally and are reasonably cheap (relative to new...)
I got my complete kit (controller, motors, wiring) in as new cond for $250.
Makes life sooo much easier its not funny.
You also can tell from a glance what settings they are set to, rather than have to either remember/guess or actively unset/set to confirm.
Also worth their weight in gold when you are sitting in pit lane waiting to go out, when suddenly it starts pouring and all the other competitors get out in the rain popping boots & bonnets to soften their shocks, while you sit nice and dry in your car and push a few buttons. Priceless...!

I'll keep an eye out for any cheap units popping up.
At the moment i'll probably do the extender things ($40 if the BC ones fit) since the budget is a bit tight (shocks, engine mounts, and brakes arriving sometime next week)

Re: Adjuster extenders for Teins?
i've put a damper extender on the passenger side since that one is basically impossible if you have a strut brace unless you are some kind of finger contortionist. Right side is pretty easy to get to but might as well do both since they come in pairs. I got the single damper extender from a friend so only did the most bothersome side. I have gutted my boot:D

By the looks of it those are also tein shocks of some kind, so I cna see they must fit.
Do you know what brand the extender on there is?

Yep I am running Tein Monosports. I don't think it's a branded one my mate would've just bought it cheap from fleabay or something but I'll ask him and update the post when I find out.

Re: Adjuster extenders for Teins?
Perfect.
I'll have a search for them.
looking at the un-used hex nut on the end I might also see if I can borrow the lathe at my GF's work one evening and make up some threaded tubes to allow that to screw onto something
edit:
only $30usd too.
Sounds like a winner.

EDFC is simple to install and use. I didn't bother installing mine for a few years but when I did I wish i'd done in sooner.
If you had access to a car like this, would you take it back right away? Neither would I.
