Left foot braking is to load up the front suspension and improve turnin, without having to sacrifice on-throttle time when you power out of the corner. Since you don't have to move your right foot from the brake pedal to the throttle, there's no dead time.

The heel-toe was interesting. Wasn't very clean, I suppose it comes down to lack of familiarity with Mark's car. No need to double clutch if you're not braking a whole lot, standard box with synchros deals with much bigger braking zones than those Morgan Park layouts without a problem.

Chris is away getting married so will not be at Morgan Park on the Sunday. Whilst Chris is not familiar with my car he has dríven it in all its variations over the past 3 years and I think he enjoys it.

That looks great... Sounds so light. You might have to tie it down between runs so a stiff breeze doesn't blow it away!

No criticism from me - but just a suggestion;
With the downshifts - maybe you can get acceleration enrichment/tip-in dialed in some more for those (very) fast throttle changes? Although I don't know how your ECU works...
Prior to sorting out tip-in with mine, downshifts were so slow since it took too long for the revs to come back up when blipping the throttle.

He's trying to downshift really quite fast, but the engine revs aren't there when he blips it that quickly - so he's got to slow the movement way down (which you can see he's starting to adapt to by the end of the lap). It looks like he's expecting it to rev like a bike on downshifts - which is understandable - since its revving like a bike in gear!! :D

Aside from that - it looks like a hoot to drive.

I have found it difficult to rev match on down changes as it needs more of a stab than a 'blip' hence why I'm still practicing it on the road and not do it too much on the track just yet. A few forum members have commented on the heel toe technique in my car in that it needs more than just a 'blip'.

Chris was in 2nd when I would normally be in 3rd, something I was not doing so he was doing more gear changes. All up he did about 5 laps in it, had a few lockups (apologised for flat spotting the tyres) and other moments but still worth sitting in the passenger seat whilst it was being dríven by somebody with skill.

Hopefully the lines taken by Chris will help others out. I enjoy T1 and going under the bridge the most.

CAMS L2S license, I sent off the application forms over a week ago, Does anybody know how long it takes CAMS to process these applications. If anybody else needs one for the Morgan Park track day I would suggest you apply sooner rather than later.

Not sure on the timing, might be worth calling the Victorian head office to check how the process is going. I got given a temporary license when I went to the Milton office to hand my form in.

Happy to offer to take 'stuff' out to Warwick and back, like a few sets of tyres.

If needed can do a meet in Milton to exchange 'stuff' or on the Sat/Sun before it can be dropped off at my place.

Should take about 10 working days. If you have not yet applied/renewed DO IT NOW!

An earlier poster suggested walking into the CAMS office at Milton. I just told Gary to do that. Surely that's quicker?

That was me - you can complete the form on the spot. It still needs to go CAMS head office in Melbourne for processing but they will give you a 30 Day Level 2 license (basically the tear off from the bottom of the application form) which will cover you for the Morgan Park event.
