BC Racing replacement springs

Postby pepejesus » Tue Jan 12, 2016 8:02 pm

Anyone know where I can find some replacement springs for BC racing coilovers?

Thinking about moving to a heavier front spring. Are springs available in generic sizes, for example does it need to be a specific BC racing spring or could I find another brand spring of the same dimensions?

If so, does anyone know the dimensions of the BC springs and where to go to buy replacements?

the dimensions for your springs are printed on your springs.

:oops: sounds like an obvious place to look first! I'll jack it up on the weekend and have a peek.

Do you know a good place to get replacements?

As previously stated Just Jap. They are very responsive and helpful so give them a ring or send an email.

Or if you know the dimensions of the springs look here http://www.kingsprings.com/catalogue/kings_springs_2010%20prosport%20cat.pdf

Do you know anything about the springs installed?

I think I have some of those at home out of the car I will look at what is written on them. The important part is the length.

BC from memory like most coilovers us a 62mm inturnal diameter spring.

180-62-8

180 = 180mm length
62 = 62mm inturnal diameter
8 = spring rate, sometimes also written as -08 or -080. the later having space for deciamals ie 8.5kg = -085.

Just Jap have confirmed they are 180mm x 62mm (front).

I've ordered a pair of 10kg so will now be running 10/6kg.

According to JJ the damper will be fine to handle the increase in rate. I have heard from others a +/-1kg change in rate should be fine and this is +2kg so we shall see once they are on the car.

Cheers for the help all.

That's what I run. Don't know how 8kg fronts compare, but compared to crappy old stock suspension I get quite neutral to slight oversteer setting the rear dampers 2-4 clicks softer.
