Fair point. And due respect to Bana, but it's not the race for amateur racers.

^ He's a fairly experienced racer, including having done the 12 hour before.

Has he? Pretty intense race for an amateur - for anybody for that matter. THAT circuit, with THOSE cars zipping around, for 12 hours too.

As GreenM says...they probably only expect to have to race for 3 or 4 hours anyway.

He's been fairly active in racing for awhile having done the 12 hour, Targa Tas and 3 seasons of the Australian GT Championship.

Sounds like he makes the grade then, not just a celebrity shoe-in.

I will have the van in the camping area so no MX5 although we may take one along to make up numbers. We will go down and meet everyone before the run around the circuit and maybe get a ride if someone has a spare seat.
The camping site is 2016 just up from the paddock entrance off Mountain Straight.
Come and say hello/have a drink - look for the MX5 Club of NSW Banner.

There are lots of interesting new cars this year:
The McLaren, BMW Z4 GT3, Nissan R35 GT3 - both endurance race winners, and it will be interesting to see the purpose built Focus V8s.
The sounds of the V12s at 9000revs and the V10s and the SLKs low rumble up mountain Straight is worth the trip. The GT cars are much faster across the top of the mountain than the V8 Supercars.
Then there's the sound of the V8 radicals who will do some very fast times.
Watching the HQs do battle with the Gems and their brakes in the chase is entertaining.

Its a good 3 days of motorsport without as many yobbos as get to the V8s 8)

Phil I should have a spare seat for the loop around the track. See you there.

Hey guys, I just sent my form through to Joe. Hopefully not too late to squeeze into the club parking (my car's not really up to car-show-condition, but the VIP group parking and parade lap would be sweet). Can't wait, see you guys there!

Hi. I think they might have closed last Wednesday, due to the need to lodge them with Bathurst council. Give him a call if you haven't heard.

Yeah, the council cut-off was Friday, but I've spoken to Joe and he's sending through my form tonight. Hopefully by having it waiting for them in the morning after returning from the long weekend the organisers might just add me to the pile. Either way, I'll be cruising up with the club Sat morning :)
