Had an email from Charles Jardine about an entry for this event - just 2 days ago. He said one day is fine; choose your day and that will be $180. Talked to David Lawler today while at the Spinning Wheel tech event. He said hoping to have enough MX5s for an all MX5 regularity. That would be good. Mixed fields are quite okay but often you are in with cars with lots more power but weaker handling. This can be a little frustrating as they want to get past on the straight but hold you up in the turns. Then again, that could be fun on Amaroo. I can go either Sat or Sun but don't want to do both.

Yes I'll be there but only on the Saturday. Can't wait. It's been too long between races.

Entry list is out. My car is in having a minor issue sorted, wasn't sure if I would make it. There are 5 mx5s in racing and a heap more in Regularity. Looks like I will have to get there!

Fun day. 12 mx5s I think, split between reg and racing, great crowd.

Mike has found his new car.

Thanks Chris. Bettered that a bit today but no 04 :(

Had to borrow a mates ute as a towie after Sals car died, in a tunnel, again!

Thanks Chris. Where were you? Would have had a freight train of Mx5's running around.

I noticed my battery light came on at some point during the day. Either my battery is not holding charge or my alternator is stuffed. Does this affect performance cause I was stuffed trying to understand why I was progressively getting slower throughout the day. I did my fastest lap on lap 1 of the whole event, then everything went downhill from there. Anyone know for sure?

Cheers

Have you checked your belt John, and your water temps? That belt also runs the water pump ...

Overall - great event, well run by FOSC. Credit where it is due, well organised, clear instructions from grid officials, and a great turnout (more so on Saturday) for a Dec event.

6 mx5s racing and 6 in reg on Saturday. Some very fast cars in racing too! Daniel Deckers, Matilda and David Stone, with the rest of us trailing. Daniel just missed out on getting sub 1 minute, his best 1.00.1

...There may have been one big blow up in the pits by an mx'er

And yes trouble for me getting home Saturday, my tow vehicle died (again). My mate lent his ute which enabled me to get there Sunday - just in time - to do all races.

Bring on the next one!

My first regularity, and quite a different experience to track days and supersprints with the greater track density and diversity of cars and lap times, along with the need to make tactical decisions while trying to match your chosen target lap time. Lots of fun!

Also my first FOSC event, and I agree it was well run and a very friendly atmosphere. I'll be back for more in 2014.

With up to 12 MX-5s pitting together on Sat and Sun, our little tent/marquee city worked well providing shade and also a central social point for everyone. It was great to sit for post-event BS sessions :-)

We also had a number of club members drop by over the weekend, Bryan "Kojak" Shedden. Jean Cook, Greg Perry. Funniest moment of the weekend was when it took Jean about 30 seconds to recognise Bryan with his new coiffure.

We even had the entertainment of one MX-5 pilot, who will remain nameless, who arrived back in the pits after his race in a very agitated state, after some close raising with a non-MX-5 competitor who was not being gentlemanly. Anyway, his temper soon cooled, but it was fun while it lasted. :-)

Thanks also to Daniel Deckers for letting me try a set of used Carbotech brake pads after I started having brake fade problems on Sunday. Once they were bedded-in they worked well and helped with a few overtaking moves.

A great day :-)))

Thanks to Dave for setting up the tents. The pit area was really friendly and good opportunity to relax and have a chat with other MX5 owners.
