FOSC Dec 7&8 Racing Regularity AND Come and Try It

Postby mazmad » Thu Oct 24, 2013 8:05 am

Entries are just out for this event. They will be having the usual categories, along with Regularity and another Come and Try It day (likely to be driver training and dedicated sessions of regularity, followed by a full regularity sessions - 4 sessions on track for 100 bucks)

I'm 50% of the way getting there, I'm off work so I just need the car finished and find a place to stay :)

Yeah absolutely re spectators. They always say - limited tickets per entrant etc etc but pretty sure they never check so you should be able to walk right in.

Let me know which day Chris, see if we can't get better organised this time for you to do the parade laps in the green machine.

Be warned, I need a couple of replacement green panels....don;t leave your car unattended. 8)

It would be worth emailing Mike Hicks from the mx5 club, he is trying to organise an mx5 only regularity which you could do, and probably still get the instruction etc as part of the come and try day.

Email competition@mx5.com.au (That will get David who can forward to Mike).

Looks like I'll be sending in my entry forms in next few days.
Only going to do the saturday, $180 to come and try is a long way from $100 . Plus I need to buy a suit and gloves to meet safety requirements.

FOSC have confirmed the Come and Try it day on Saturday has increased to $180, unfortunately. If you do the Saturday you can then do the full regularity on Sunday for $150.

That sort of defeats the point of encouraging people to get into motorsport if it's that expensive. You don't need a suit for FoSC, but they do require gloves and some other safety gear that other events don't require, even CAMS (like metal valve caps).

It may be that due to the overwhelming popularity last time they've upped the price to reduce demand. There were far too many cars on track at once last time (which far outweighs any safety benefits from metal valve caps ).

Exactly how I feel about Come and Try last event I attended. There should be a cap for maximum number of cars allowed for 'Come and Try'.

Is there anyone trying to do one day of regularity race? Do you know how much it will be?

cheers
