Agree, class timing would definatly be the easiest way out of it. It works well at the Wakefiled & Winton 300

So is Modern Sports Cars dead already? After all the great work put into setting it up and a good turnout at the first event, it would be disappointing to see it fold.

Wow I certainly hope not. The MRA mx5 sprint races are the perfect complement to the 1 hour MSC setup.

I can assure you MSC is going great guns!!

Our first event a Wakefield was put together with short notice when a date became available. Due to track availabiltiy there will be no more events for 2013 however for 2014 we aim to have 4 events in 3 different States at 3 different tracks.

The track owners will shortly be releasing their calendars and we will have a few dates to choose from.

We will also be announcing our naming rights sponsor for MSC in 2014.

To stay in touch visit http://www.modernsportscars.com.auand register so you will be kept up to date.

Exciting times ahead!!

Bryan MX5 challenge has nothing to do with the Modern sports cars, we actually ran mx5s and modern sports at the same meeting and it went really well, hopefully we can do the same next year.

Excellent (and very relieved!) to hear that Chris & Lou. I'm following the MSC FB page but it's been very quiet there since June (hence my concern). Once the 2014 race calendar is ready, we'll definitely get the dates included in the calendar on the MX-5 Club of NSW website. 8)

^ Any ETA on the calendar for the club days in 2014? I spoke to Mike about it back at FoSC in early August and he mentioned that it may be ready in a few weeks.

I just received an email from Mike today confirming that we have locked in dates for SMP South - Sunday 27th April & Saturday 2nd August. Very difficult to get dates at SMP. Still waiting for dates from Wakefield Park.

The first and last couple of laps of the mx5 Trophy race on Sunday.

Daniel and Luke ran off, but the rest of us still had our share of the fun.

The second Super TT race on Sunday, a field of 38 cars (with a lot of cowboys in there....just ask weevil). There is a little procession of 4 mx5s for the last few laps....

Sounded like you were having some fun there Craig. I was impressed how close you were to Steve's car. A little more hp and you would've had him. Well done.
UNDERSTEER is when you hit the wall with the front of the car. OVERSTEER is when you hit the wall with the rear of the car.

Last one I promise.... Some of the fun from Saturdays Sports Sedans and NASCAR race. The track had dried but with the mud and dirt around the big cars had a bit of trouble staying on the black stuff.

Timed classes next year are the only way to go, it works for the 300s look how many turn?
It's give everyone someone to race against. it removes all the BS, driver plus car equal a time, to move up a class learn to drive or fix your car or be happy racing your mates.
It took me 5 years practice and a lot of expense to get up the front, the fun factor is the same no matter where you are it's all about beating the guy in front of you and improving your skill.
My only complaint is now I can stay with the front runners they haven't been turning up, where r you guys, winning is only fun when you are being pushed to your limits by the other guys ( or girls)
It was all the carrying on like school kids behind the scenes that ruined MX5 racing, timed brackets stop this. No rules just do your best and have fun.

I think this is the way it is and hopefully next year everyone will return .

Michael Hall

PS Congratulations to everyone who had fun on Sunday I enjoyed watching from the Hill.
