For the record the two times I have had 'contact' were not at race meets.

No I am heading down later Friday so will have to join the queue Saturday morning.

Interesting day. It absolutely bucketed down last night in GOULBURN, and was raining this morning. Rained actually pretty hard in the first sports sedans qualifying and in the first race too.

I ended up being the only mx5 in the race after Andy had a gremlin that took all day and 2 trips to Sydney to fix, finally sorted by Big Decks. From lunchtime....sunshine. Interesting grid with ex v8 super cars, nascars (650hp  ) and a mixed bag of others including me. But the little mx5 holds its own, the big boys having trouble getting power down and staying on the track, lots of debris and crap being dragged onto the track.

John ran in regularity and his new car looked and sounded great!

a bunch of mx5s are coming down tomorrow morning for us all to run in super TT. 35+ on the grid!

By the way you have to buy tickets to spectate if anyone is coming to check it out. But with all the mx5 competitors there should be plenty to go round if anyone wants tickets.

I have left my tickets at the gate. Under Craig Durrant if anyone needs them.

Well that was a fun weekend! I will post some vids when I can, a few incidents but all's well that ends well. (Switzerland being the new Camp MX5 motto.....)

Well done to Daniel and Luke for keeping the TT mob honest. Some great racing amongst the rest of the mx5s too. Quite a number of pb's actually

Good to see the mx5 crew not racing dropping in too, Scotty, Nathan.

Next one is Nov 23/24....

Was good fun Chris - not clean though! Not mentioning any names, a couple of those over powered under-skilled TT boys can only get places by pushing through.

Yeah heard that they kicked up a bit of a stink about the MX5s having no roof or something? Tried to get rid of corner speed from their racing haha

Any marks on your car?

Yes a fun day regardless of the rain and changing conditions. The regularity competitiors where after the Super Trucks. Whenever those boys come off the track the amount of mud they bring onto the track is ridiculous. PB's where out of the question (for me at least) so I was happy to circulate and gain more experience with the car.
My new wing managed to generate some downforce and introduced some understeer. I think I'll post up a new thread re the wing to gain some opinions.

My heart was in my mouth when seeing Craig battle with those 600+ hp monsters. Holding his own for the most part. Good job Craig. I couldn't believe how small our cars look up against even a medium sized car.

No in-car footage from me sorry.

Cheers - John
UNDERSTEER is when you hit the wall with the front of the car. OVERSTEER is when you hit the wall with the rear of the car.

Crap weekend for me. New front guard and bar needed.
Got too cocky last mx5 race chasing Craig and ran out if talent.

Think we need a proper mx5 category manager or someone like that and start a mini points system for 2014 based on mra rounds only. I have a few ideas.

You are kidding me re the roof? That is ridiculous, I didn't hear that. Beemers didn't want us either, WP asked their 'category manager' if we could run with them but clearly too upper class for us. In their last race Saturday there was only 5 of them!

No no marks, but I literally had to take dramatic evasive action a couple of times when I had the absolute right of way. Seemed to be the same guilty parties over the weekend. My view is... you want it that bad, go for it. My ego will survive. Stewards were called in on one incident when one of the mx5s decided enough was enough after copping a bump from one of the cowboys, and they ruled clearly in his favour.
