Can't wait for the next one.

Chris, it's not about how fast you are, it's about how much fun you have!! Chip away a second at a time over the first few, it comes together eventually I'm told!

When was the last time you drove a car at 150+ ?? If we are all behaving, the fastest we would have been is 110kph!!

I am so getting in on this one. I was disappointed to miss the last one but didn't want to go to Lakeside before QR. Won't be missing this one.

I really enjoyed reading this post. For me I have to say that a long understanding of the infamy of LS meant I held great trepidation and also chose QR for the first run. I was ten foot tall and bulletproof out at QR, and totally head facked at LS...
All that said I am looking forward to and most proud of LS. -It is a very high commitment track. Go fast there, and you get to quietly know that the fly boys street racing will never know just how good you are when the price is really high... I do not expect to find my car's limit in June either...
I was mentally walking like John Wayne after last time there though. Looking forward to another crack at QR on Monday though...

I'm rostered to work at this stage, but may be able to get a leave day. Worst case, I think I may actually be going to have the flu that day, cough cough.

Just remember folks, this is another "good deal day" to thank you for your support of MX-5 Club of Qld track days. You get a FULL DAY at NORMAL (HALF DAY) RATES as shown the the club website http://www.mx5clubqld.com.au/?page_id=33.

Organise time off or a day's leave if you possibly can - this is excellent value :!:

Thanks JBT, given the numbers we have had this year we could set a record!! I'm sure there were 45 very happy drivers today as well, great organisation, great marshalling and fantastic co-operation of all to be ready to shoot out and allow us to get TEN runs in a half day - augers well for July!

I'll come along for my first track session.

Apart from extending 3rd party and getting a helmet, what else do I need to do or bring?

CTP extension as we discussed this morning
Helmet - kitchen saucepan will NOT pass!
Long sleeve shirt long duds, Levi's fine
Covered footwear - no thongs or sandals
AASA Licence - can be obtained from the Office on the day - for one day or a year
Indemnity form - download from the Club website

For 15 July a FULL tank of fuel!

As I said over coffee this morning Kev, you will do fine and have a great day!

Speaking of, I filled in the form and paid for one last week at QR, but never actually got a card. Any ideas when or where?

If you paid for a full year license they will post it out to you, its just a credit card type thing with ID number etc.
I recently got my first year license this year from QR, it took about a week or 2 before I received it :)
