Our next club track event is a driver training day at Marulan on 10th March. The day will be a great opportunity for people to be trained by experienced competition drivers from within the Club (I'll be there), or alternately to experience driving on a circuit without any competitive pressures. There will be no timed laps for this day. Entries are limited to 40 drivers and cost is $90 for members, $105 for non-members (plus $30 for a Marulan licence if you don’t have a AASA or CAMS licence). Spectators are welcome (no charge). Entries close on 27th Feb and I believe there are still a few places available for those who're quick to take them.
A detailed report on the previous driver training day at Marulan is available on page 19 of Club Torque Autumn 2011
Below is a video of my PB lap at Marulan. It's a low speed track, with my standard NA6 barely reaching 100km/hr on the main straight and averaging 69km/hr for a 48.91s lap. It's 900m long with eight corners - very busy and a LOT of fun!
So who's going???

I'll be there and have double-entered with my girlfriend. She said she wanted to have a go on the track so this seemed like a good opportunity to do it, as well as get some good tutoring!
Bryan, are you able to give an idea of how the sessions will work or how groups will be determined? Will every car have an instructor?
The Club Torque article gives a detailed explanation of how it works. Every driver should have the opportunity to have an instructor for every run ... if they want it. Or if the drivers would prefer, they will be able to do some laps without an instructor. The groups will be made up on the basis of previous track experience, dual entries, etc.
Joe - I'm actually tempted to do the same. It's my Dad's 70th birthday this weekend and this would make a nice present.

Passengers might be permitted (subject to Mike's approval), but they MUST be fully paid participants. Can't just show up and jump in the passenger seat. Insurance reasons.

I'm down for this in my car, and my Sister driving a bright Yellow Citroen C2. Don't quite trust putting her in my car . Turbo + tight corners = sideways.
I think Marks comments of it feeling like a go kart may be more due to the fact his car is a big go kart.
