Have a look at Tilta Trailers Qld. We've had a few different trailers before buying 2 of these and it's the best thing we did. They're light, tow well, easy to load and no ramps. We also wanted something that would tow a variety of cars so we optioned up to the wider decks. Also suitable for low cars. Only down side that I can mention is that the paint is a bit thin. Worth a look if you're buying new!

Hi MrsB
Spoke to Tilta Trailers. I like the look of their product. Have you got the electric brakes or mechanical?

Quick search brought up quick and easy trailer hire in Beverly hills. $300 for a week.
Or try trailer rentals .com.au.....
I used to hire a trailer from a guy in Bexley, but can't find him online or really remember the address.
I was planning on just using a rental until I save enough for a tilta!

Re: Looking at buying my first trailer. What do you think?
Thanks Scotty. I am in Qld over Xmas and am planning on checking out tilta trailers then too
I checked out one of the trailerrentals.com.au locations (they rent from various petrol stations) and their trailer would do the job. It looks like it would carry a sherman tank, and could well be made from a recycled sherman tank. Trying to find something a little lighter/smaller, but if not it will do the trick.

From previous experience the words lightweight and rental generally never go together.
They are also almost never low car friendly.
What vehicle are you using to tow with?

You got it. Bullet proof is better than flimsy though I guess.
It is an Audi Q5. Has 2.2 tonne towing capacity so will be within that.
There are a couple of other rental places in the inner west I will have a look at also.

I've recently bought a single axle Tilta Trailer on eBay. I should have it at the next Wakefield club day if you'd like to take a closer look. Look for me near the grey SE, No. 86.

Re: Looking at buying my first trailer. What do you think?
I built my own, it looks similar with two tracks and a empty middle. I set my guard low enough to open the doors. I probably spent nearly double the price of that trailer! Most builders, if you ask them will set the guards lower. My trailer is 6ft wide and the length of an NB... I only have over-ride cable discs but I set blocks where the front wheels go so the trailer is loaded correctly every time.
Others will say that you have to have electric brakes but the reasons are because the owners don't normally put their cars in the same place each time which can cause the trailer to misbehave. If you set things up properly you don't normally have any troubles..
That's my 2 cents worth, come and see me at WP on the 27th if you want to talk further! (That is, if you are in Sydney!)

Just to steal your thread for a minute...
Any tips for getting the mxer onto and off the trailer on your own, without someone to guide up and off the ramps? Grow a really long neck?
