Ohlins just arrived. Sitting in a box next to my desk at work, which is no use to anyone!

The turn around was amazingly quick. Only 5 or 6 buisness days from order to my door. Install early next week. Track late next week. Pumped.

How do you rate the NB ones? Sorry it's not obvious who has NB or NC.

Cheers

I highly rate the NB shocks.

I really can't test them to their full as I am not the best driver and haven't had access to a track.

That being said I blew away an XR6 going up a hill with 90-120 degree turns. That's with me still not pushing it to the limit.

I love driving towards turns and not braking and the just powering through the corner.

I think I'll only understand how good they are when I can improve my skills and get some track time.

What is truly amazing is how it affects so many aspect of the car. The responsiveness of the car is fantastic.

A guy had put different springs on my car and the suspension was crap.

I have now have 9 clicks at the front and 11 at the rear for a little more comfort. The car is amazing on 7 and 7 clicks (factory setting)...

So I unpacked the Ohlins when I got home. For a very expensive new product, they look a bit beaten up. Packaging was all 100% - so it's not transit damage.

Not sure if I'm overly impressed.

IMO: Get straight on to the person you brought them from.

I wouldn't be too bummed at the seller as these things happen.

That being said, I am disappointed for you. I once recieved an ohlins shock for my bike that was not built correctly. Was a simple mistake and they resolved it straight away.

It didn't take away my frustration as I had disassembed the whole rear end of the bike to install it......

Riding the bike (once it was sorted) certainly made up for it. Both my bike and car are now the best they have ever been since the installation.

It happens unfortunately but talk to where you got them from and see what they can do. I did similar to mine myself with a cheap spring compressor :frown:

It appears to be too far down to be an issue structurally but I understand the dissapointment

I got them from Steve Crammer - as linked earlier in this thread. I couldn't get onto him today.

I'm super keen to get them in the car because I've got a track day and a hill climb in the coming 5~ days. I don't want to fart around for another fortnight sending back one shock and getting it replaced.

I think (hope) the damage is (only) superficial.

Complicated

Steve is pretty fantastic when it comes to service - outstanding in fact. Call him and let him know and ask him what he wants to do. I doubt if you would ever lower your springs down that far for it to be a problem and if you put the damaged threads on the inside you will probably never notice. I reckon it's (an unfortunate) cosmetic only issue.
