My ohlins for the nc were a little different to those you have pictured there... pictures are in my thread, i can post some others here if anyone would like for reference. I'm sure some of the other nc guys running ohlins took copious photos of them aswell... they are certainly a work of art if you ask me :D
Still can't get enough of mine... lately its been the nice sweeping turns on and off monavale and forestway .....

I'm guessing that Pap11y's photos were from an NA/NB as the NC front shocks were longer, the rears used the factory top hats.

The set up as suggested in the Ohlins manuals is close to spot on just use these measurements .
Then adjust the shock rates to suit your ride preference. I like 12 off hard front /rear due to the crappy Adelaide roads.

Mine are definately for NB.

Well they fought me but I got the shocks installed.

I am currently running them on 11 away from full preload.

You still notice the bumps but on nice road its so comfortable. Like being on a cloud.

I have also noticed the car is more responsive when accellerating.

Cornering is just amazing and I can't really say how good yet as I need time to learn to trust the car going much faster when cornering..

So happy that job is done.

Rear is a little lower but front is the same. They are at a great ride height from Ohlins and I did not adjust this.

My nb is at 320mm front and and 330mm rear height measured from wheel centre to guard lip. the car has a slight rake .
This gives a front roll centre of 14.7mm above ground. Dont go lower than 310mm f 320mm r or your roll centre will be too low and the handling will be worse.

Can anyone tell me the stock height of the NC?

What I want to know is the front and the rear the same height on the NC? or did Mazda make the rear or front sit higher?

From the NSW RTA:
Vertical measurement wheel centre to top of wheel arch opening at unladen mass
Front: 375
Rear: 373

Mine are currently 340F / 345R and just about perfect. Had the rears at 330 for a while but it was too low, that and my Whiteline rear bar bent my swaybar end links.

Thanks for that

I was hoping for a ground to the bottom of the folded sill

I find it hard to get an accurate measurement going from wheel centre to top of wheel arch

But going by that measurement it looks like at the rear of the folded sill on the NC it sits 10mm higher than from the ground to the folded sill on the front
Does that sound right?

If you find measuring from centre hub to the wheel arch hard, just hook your tape onto the top (inside lip) of the rim and take the vertical measurement.
Then measure the diameter of the rim, inside lip to inside lip and divide by two.
Add this measurement to the first and you have the height centre hub to wheel arch.

To answer your question if Mazda raked the car, the answer is yes but it varies car to car somewhere between 5 & 10mm. My original height was 380 front and 370 rear. As your car is getting on in age, it probably is lower than this as the springs probably have dropped a little.

It’s too hard to get an accurate reading measuring from the ground to the sill fold. Ground levels, measurement position on the sill, tyre inflation, all add up to an inaccurate reading. You can only get an approximate reading. I just use it to check that after I adjust my height (something you don’t need to worry about with a stock car) that there is a rake of not less than 3 - 5 mm to the front.

Height wise Guy’s pretty right. Somewhere in the 340 – 345mm range is about as low as you need to go on the road. On the track I’ve been down to 325 but that’s a ground scraper for the road. Generally I run 338 – 340 front and back. This gives around a 5mm rake.

That's true

Anyway I was at a Mazda dealer yesterday so I was able to get a measurement and yes the very front edge of the folded sill sits at 157mm while the rear sits at 165mm so an 8mm difference without factoring tyres inflation levels. Ground level should be pretty spot being in a show room but who knows

That was a big part of my decision.

I didn't want to shell out $1500 and still feel like it wasn't as good as it could be..

I am currently running my front 9 clicks from full rebound and 11 clicks at the rear.

Was the best compromise between comfort without losing the crazy handling. Its ridiculous how hard I can corner now.

Enjoy. I know I am..

Fingers cross I feel the same way. I'll as mad as a cut snake if I shell out 3 large and don't like the result
