I'm considering these for my NB as well. The price is high - but I'm down with the 'buy once, buy right' idea.

Am I correct that the NB rates are 8kgf/mm 6kgf/mm (front rear)?

I believe these are the stats but give Steve a call to confirm:

- DFV (Dual Flow Valve)
- Corrosion salt spray tested to ISO 9227 - 2 year warranty
- Single bleed/Preloaded spring adjusters
- Fully re-buildable w/dust-covers
- Spring Rate: Front: 458 lbs/in. Rear: 343 Lbs/in.

Considering a set for the NC, has anyone spoken with Steve about a GB?

If not I will esquire as it seems like these are the real deal at a decent price.

Hi Guys,

I am currently in discussions with Steve trying to secure great outcome for all of us. I won't post the rates yet, however, if you are interested please feel free to PM me and I will give you an indication of what its likely to be.

Once we have a solid price/tear structure I will post something in the classifieds section of the forum.

Thanks,
Damien.

I have just ordered a set for my NB.

I went through Steve. Was cheaper than overseas but I am not sure how long that will last with the AUD losing value..

Add to that if I have any probs or need rebuild I only have to send them to VIC.

I had an issue with a shock for my bike being built incorrectly (brought from the US). Thankfully they put me on to a guy in sydney who could sort it.

Having experienced the dramatic change of my bikes handling, I am eagerly awaiting their delivery and installation...

Closer to 2900 give or take $20 :)

For Steve to even be in the ball park shows he is passing on the benefits of the USD.

I saw better prices overseas but postage from Steve was $20 to sydney. His pricing was very competitive.

Add to that your dealer is in the same country.

I am not excited about sending shocks to Vic but the idea of sending a shock or multiple to the US is really undesirable.

I have no affiliation with Steve but appreciate when an aussie supplier is not charging 50-100% markup.

It wouldn't surprise me that he's cut his margins right down...and from a consumer's perspective, that's commendable.

As a small business owner, I have some understanding of the issues that distributors face:
- we import in any volume, the handling costs from port are exhorbitant!
- we get hit by tax
- storage / shop fees
- buffers for warranty shipment out, etc

Businesses can take the approach of cut prices and run low margins with the view that it's better to have some sales than none (as consumers buy direct from overseas).

To elaborate on handling costs - sending a pallet by sea is of course very much cheaper...but as soon as I add handling costs from port, I might as well have had the pallet shipped it by air!

Anyway, good to buy from Steve because even if you have to pay a few dollars more, consider that you are going to be covered from a warranty perspective by a local business.

Hi everyone,

This thread is ridiculously low on pics :) I also thought I'd provide some pointers for anyone else who is considering these..

What you get:

Image

Image

I was hoping these would be fully assembled but thankfully the task is not too complicated.

Hint 1 - which spring is for which shock?

There is a separate set of instructions for the front and rear shocks.

In the actual instructions they have put the spring part number in the document (see image)

Image

You can also see the tools I needed to assemble the shocks a 4mm allen key and a 14mm spanner

Hint 2 - The instructions shows the rubber mount and the top mount as separate (these come provided as a single part - maybe obvious but still worth highlighting.

Hint 3 - Note about - When tightening the top mount..

A picture tells a thousand words...

Image

As usual the quality of the components is excellent.

Image

See the assembled products below

Image

The only thing I was not happy with is you have to cut the rear dust cover manually. It doesn't have the bottom part that fits perfectly on the shock.

Not a deal breaker but when you are paying top dollar...

Image

Also from the instructions I am not 100% sure where to adjust the height. Another reason why its great to have my reseller is AUS.

Hope you like the pics.

I'll be installing them tomorrow and will post some pics afterwards.
