Hmmm, yep it looks like it'll be an expensive year with the entry fees creeping up again. Full fee for half a track is a bit rich, but not surprising since the south circuit isn't finished yet. The discount for NSWRRC-members just rubs salt into the wounds. A more significant conflict for me is the scheduling on Saturdays - I coach my son's under-8 football team on Saturday mornings. I'll probably skip round 2 too ... though not 100% decided yet.

Who said NC's weren't fast?
Ralph blitzed me yesterday  with a 1:10.181 just 0.01 outside Chris G's Targa NC's record. And it wasn't just a one off as he put in numerous laps within a couple of 10ths of this time.

I just sent my rego form in last week for the Supersprints, as I was looking forward to trying out Eastern Creek North.

But at $245, I'm questioning if its even worth going, other than the fact that I'm local, so have virtually no fuel bill to get there it still seems like a major rip, considering the amount of cars that enter the Eastern Creek rounds.

Out of curiousity, did any one notice if number 13 was taken already?

Yes to Iain Druce from NSWRRC in an LJ Torana.
The low numbers are assigned to the place getters from the previous year's event.

I thought I did well getting No.50, being apt for an MX-5. Mike has 51.
Of the others there's 35, 44, 61, 62, 68, 72, 76, 86, 97, 115, 118 & 186, so you can see they're all over the place.
Best thing to do is too ask for a list of available numbers and then pick one.

Yesterday's results are up here: http://www.natsoft.com.au/cgi-bin/resul ... /2012.WAKE

As for the next round at Eastern Creek, a lot of people commented on the high cost.
I don't think it's worth it for the North Circuit. It’s more than Phillip Island!!!! So as I need a set of tyres, I won't be running.

Interesting.

10.18 for a 2B MX5 is pretty fast

Why are the Loti so slow? :? Has Rex given it away?

Getting tempted, could run the white car as 4B, perhaps 3B, better have a close look at the regs ... 8)

No Rex, don't know if he'd give it away, probably had other commitments?

The new "Loti's" are under 1600cc so looking at the 1A time of just under 1:10, poor Bryan's going to experience what we, in 2B, have had for the last few years from Rex.

greenMachine wrote: 10.18 for a 2B MX5 is pretty fast

Yep it is.

I had a little laugh yesterday. For the second run, I lined up on the front row next to a V8 FPV Falcon ute with all the whiz bang bits attached. It sounded great. :) I called over and asked what time he had done the first run and he proudly said a 1:11.8.
I then asked if he minded me going out first as I was quicker. The look on his face was priceless. He never caught me.

As for the other Elise's, must be a mechanical problem with the connection between the centre pedal and the right foot.

I thought that the main difference between Type 3 and Type 4 is R-specs versus slicks??? Peter could comment on that. Anyway, if you enter in Class 4B, you'd have a good chance of collecting some points as there aren't as many entrants. You'd still do well in 3B too.

I believe the Elise in Class 1B is a 111R, which was specified with a 1796cc 2ZZ-GE engine. So he's not in 1A like me. But according to Bob, there are only two 1A cars entered in the championship (me and "Nigel" Mansell), which means we both get bumped to 1B and can look forward to being trounced by the 111R. Oh well. I'm still very much looking forward to competing against Stewart Temesvary (he's running his NB this year) and Paul Bower (he's apparently bought an MX-5 to replace his smashed Fiesta).

The silent assassin strikes again. I have been warning that Ralph was coming for you  . I hear that a shorter diff ratio is under consideration, Phil??? Will you be fitting larger tyres too? :P At the rate he's improving, I reckon Ralph will be well into the 1:09s before the end of this season ... maybe even a high 1:08. 8)

And here I was thinking it was this one: http://www.lotuscars.com/gb/our-cars/cu ... e/elise-16

ELISE VITAL STATISTICS
1.6 litre DOHC 4 cylinder , dual VVT-i and Valvematic, 16 valve:
0-100 km/h 6.5 seconds, 0-160 km/h 18.6 seconds. Max speed 204 km/h

That's a tad, just, faster than an NA. :D

Too bad about being bumped up a class.

I have a couple of things under consideration, problem is that stuff called "money" and the assassin's driving ability. So until I win Lotto I will just have to drive harder and remove a plug lead from one Red NC.

Priceless! That just about sums up why we drive MX5s 8)

And I quote from http://www.supersprints.com.au:

"The MX5 Club have streaked away in the Club Championship with 117 points, well ahead of NSWRRC who are second on 74 points. Its daylight to 3rd with ARDC, Clubman Drivers and Many Warringah taking up the next three places on 39, 38 and 37 points respectively."

Congratulations guys ! Outstanding effort !!! Would have loved to have stayed around longer and will bring the cameras to Eastern Creek for some personal shots and spend a day there.

Talking to one of the Skyline guys before one of the runs.
"Is that thing turboed?" as he nodded toward my car
"Nah", sez I, "pretty stock really"
"sh*t" says he, "They're pretty quick eh...so there must be plenty of turboed one here eh"
"Nah" sez I, "almost all of em are NA but what they lose in power they make up with superb brakes and handling"
"Oh" sez he with a shake of the head, " That'll be my next mod..some better brakes" :)

BTW I had a ball at my first Supersprint round...I'm hooked....but neither CB or I enjoyed the drive home on very worn R Specs in those storms.
