MEET: McDonalds Dural opposite the intersection of New Line and Old Northern Road, Dural

TIME: Sunday 17 July 2011 from 7.30 am for both starts at 8.00 am & 8.15 am sharp.

DETAILS: Join the MX5 Breakfast Club and the Club’s monthly Cruiser Run on a split run back to the Tatler’s vineyard for brunch in the vines. In 2009 we had 70 plus cars and 96 people drive to Tatler to raise money for the Club’s charities but can we do better in 2011?

All Sydney runs will start from McDonalds at Dural near the new MX5 Mania facility for a drive to Wisemans Ferry, then along the north bank of the Hawkesbury River, up through Central Mangrove to Wollombi and on to Tatler Wines at 477 Lovedale Road, Lovedale in the Lower Hunter Valley.

After brunch you will have the opportunity of spending some time at the Cellar Door, having lunch at Tatler Cafe or visiting any of the many wineries, restaurants and attractions within a few kilometres of Tatler Wines in the Lower Hunter Valley before heading back home.

Two runs will be leaving Dural 15 minutes apart to maximise on road safety and avoid an unmanageable convoy of cars over narrow “B” roads ideal for a good drive in your MX-5 on route to a hearty brunch. The run will be a later run for those familiar with a BreakFast Club start and an earlier run for those members accustomed to the monthly Cruiser Run to arrive at Tatler by 10.30am for brunch.

EARLY RUN: Victor Lee (BadBong) will lead a traditional BreakFast Club Run of 205 kilometres starting at 8.00 am to Wollombi then continue up to Broke and across to Pokolbin and Lovedale for brunch.

LATER RUN: The later175 kilometre run will be a more relaxed drive starting at 8.15 am lead by Mark Garvin or nominee to Wollombi then continuing across to Cessnock and up to Lovedale.

HUNTER RUN: Bruce Bettison will lead the Hunter Chapter to Tatler Wines with more details on the Hunter post in the Events Calendar.

TATLER VINEYARD

Tatler Cafe: Internationally renowned chef Harry Callinan and his front of house manager and better half Aliesha are opening the award winning Tatler Cafe kitchen early for brunch among the vines. Tatler Cafe has extended its undercover seating since we last went to their vineyard and now seats 120 patrons inside. Tatler Cafe are donating a lunch or dinner for four as a lucky door prize to support the Club’s charities.

Tatler Wines: Tatler Wines are now amongst the top 7% of Australian wineries achieving 5 Red Stars (the highest rating) in the 2010 James Halliday Australian Wine Companion. James Halliday described Tatler Wines as an “outstanding winery regularly producing wines of exemplary quality and typicity.” The Cellar Door that adjoins the cafe and will be open from when you arrive for your convenience.

COST OF EVENT

The fixed cost for this event is $30.00 reduced to $25.00 for brunch and wine tasting if you pre-pay and register by 14th July 2011. From each early registration $5.00 goes to the Club’s Charities which increases to $10.00 for late registrations. REGISTRATION

To encourage early-registration, all registered participants will be eligible to be a winner in the MX5 Mania Registration Rewards. As the brunch is not a scheduled sitting for Tatler Café it is important that Harry & Aliesha get some idea of numbers for catering, seating and staff numbers. Run leaders will accept late registrations on the day before the start of their runs to telephone ahead to Tatler Cafe. Attached is a link to the Registration Form.

MX5 MANIA REGISTRATION REWARDS

David and Simone from MX5 Mania are supporting the Tatler’s Run with eight gift vouchers and merchandise for MX5 drivers who register early for the run. The first winner is the persons whose Registration Form is received first and thereafter on a confidential rotational basis. The lucky winners will be posted on the Forum thread and be able to collect their MX5 Mania Gift Vouchers at Tatler Cafe.

Only registered participants will qualify for a chance to win the major lucky door prizes on offer to breakfast guests. ODOMETER CHALLENGE

Tatler Wines is donating a dozen bottles of their premium wines as prizes for an odometer reading challenge for everyone on a run to the vineyard. The twelve cars with the closest odometer reading chosen on the day for their run will receive a bottle of Tatler premium wine. CHARITY RAFFLE

Tatler will sponsor and provide a midweek accommodation package for 6 people in Tatler’s Loft valued at $600.00 and Lattouf Hair & Body Spa is donating a Complete Body Overhaul Package for 2 valued at $240.00 as prizes for the Club’s charities. We hope to secure more donations for a good cause before the event.
