Meet: Truck Rest Bay, M4 West Service Centre, Eastern Creek (past McDonalds)
Time: Sunday 5 June 2011 at 5.30 am for a start at 6.00 am sharp
Details: This is an annual open invitation point to point charge (ie, no stops; maps; run sheets or lead cars with only two rules “tops must be down” and “try to observe all the road rules”

There is an ad hoc mass start with no special place in the line for MX5s. The Brass Monkey is not an official MX5 Club run as opposed to the MX5 BreakFast Club Return Run. Find a friend, a bunch of MX5s or other roadsters travelling at a pace you are comfortable with and join in this 235km charity event. You should arrive at the Mudgee Bowling Club at 12 Burrandulla Avenue, Mudgee at around 8.30 am for a 9.00 am hot & cold buffet breakfast in the company of a hundred assorted roadster drivers and their passengers.
In 2009 & 2010 the first three cars to roll up at the breakfast venue were MX5s and the MX5 has been the most numerous marque on the last two the Brass Monkey runs. Everyone who has taken part a the Brass Monkey has enjoyed the experience in the company of assorted roadsters and classic cars. Be part of the 2011 Brass Monkey and do your bit to replicate stand out presence by MX5s for the last year two years.
Getting Home: Remember the MX5 BreakFast Club – Brass Monkey Return Run will start after breakfast, see particulars below.
Registration: POST a cheque for $16.00 for each participant PLUS a self addressed and stamped envelope to AHOC, PO Box 3027, LLANDILO, NSW, 2747. Breakfast vouchers will be posted back to you.

By virtue of the number of cars taking part in a Brass Monkey Run and the absence of on road supervision the AHOC is compelled to use the highway where possible. The Return Run being a much smaller event by the MX-5 Club NSW is able to drive the twisty back roads that are ideal for a MX-5. The run to breakfast is all about the adventure and early morning experience. The run back to the city is all about the drive and the route. If you take part in the 2011 Brass Monkey then consider joining the MX5 BreakFast Club in this annual return run that follows on from breakfast.
Meet: In Burrandulla Street, Mudgee (outside the Mudgee Bowling Club )
Time: Sunday 5 June 2011 with the sign from 10.00 am for a start at 10.15 am
Details: The MX5 BreakFast Club will organise a Brass Monkey Return Run for all (club members and non members) back to Sydney with a stop for coffee or lunch on the way. This year the Return Run will start from outside the breakfast venue where the bulk of the cars on the Brass Monkey will be parked.
In 2011 the route will head a short distance north out of Mudgee and turn right into the Lue Road through Lue, Rylstone and Kandos to Ilford on the Castlereagh Highway. We cross the highway down past the heritage village of Sofala then on to Bathurst on the Peel Road. Time permitting the route will travel down to O’Connell then across to Tarana and Lithgow before crossing the Blue Mountains on the Bells Line of Road.

The intention is to get through Lithgow around the middle of the day to minimise the inconvenience of traffic returning across the mountains after lunch. Decisions will be made on the road as to whether we stop for a convenience/refreshment stop at either at Sofala or Bathurst or Tarana.

RSVP. None required
