I'm about to order some of these as don't have time to wait for delivery from OS. http://www.mx5centre.com.au/index.php?m ... cts_id=172
Haven't spotted any cheaper in Oz. Plus they are ADR tagged.

Well they are certainly cheaper than some other retail sellers, I won't care to mention.

I used a little known company called "Enzed."

Van pulls up, man makes em while you wait, man leaves.
Went for a drive and there were slow cars everywhere, why are NC's so common . . . must be NC = Normally Cardiganed.

ADR approved (I have no idea what that is but other poster mentioned it so it must be important) and how much for man turning up making and leaving?

ADR = Australian Design Rules, there should be a swag of them (numbers) on your cars compliance plate, i.e. it's compliant with the relevant ADRs so stamped.

ADR approved means crimp on connectors vs. screw on ones like the race guys or anyone in the hydraulic field would use.

The down side of crimps is if the hose is damaged it's a throw away item.

The down side of screw fittings is you need to maintain them, which means making sure they're screwed up. If a line is damaged then you can unscrew it replace the hose and reuse the fittings, which saves a few bucks and you only need a "length of hose and few spare fittings in the spares bin, as opposed to four individual lines.

Ergo for long term safety, a crimp fitting has a lower chance of failing, meaning your brakes work when you need them.

The receipt says $300 for a complete set and to clarify, I didn't actually 'see the man', but I have very little reason to doubt the guy who did 'see the man'.

I, see that the guy who ships these wants you to give your credit card details over the phone.

Not sure whether I feel comfortable with this.

Opinions welcome.

I bought the Imported lines from MX5 Centre for the race car. They fit perfectly, arrived promptly, and the credit card details I gave over the phone weren't used to pay for lady boys in Manila... By me or by MX5 Centre!

Very happy to recommend them.

Mine arrived from James today - about to install tonight with a few other brake bits...

Will have well bedded in before they are really needed... at Lakeside. :-)

I'm planning to pick up some lines from mx5 centre in the near future.

Can anyone comment on braking performance? Is the difference really noticable? More feel?

Braided brake lines

I'm guessing very few of us make only that change at the time. Eg I put new pads and upgraded to NA8 rotors at the front simultaneously. A great step fwd with better ability to modulate braking and I'm yet to test on the track. I think the braided lines prob have the effect of avoiding/reducing brake fade once you get all the rotor/wheel etc pretty hot and transferring heat by radiation to the lines.

I'm sure some expert can confirm this?

Hi Peter, the braided brake lines won't do anything for brake fade or heat transfer to the lines, but what they will do is not swell up like the factory rubber lines when hot, and therefore maintain a far better pedal feel (reduced brake pedal displacement when hot) throughout the working temperature range.

Cheers,
Danny
