Yeah no worries, you'd just mentioned Bathurst in another conversation we had, that's all :)

Hopefully I'll see you at the track soon.

Sounds interesting to go and watch it.

Is there a price to be a spectator?

Someone will give you a ticket if there is a cost to spectate, but I'd be surprised if there was. You can have one of mine if I go, but at this stage it's still up in the air.

My car is't logbooked so I can't compete but I'll try to come up and watch. Be cool to meet a few of the QLD racers. 8)

Gonna have to get my finger out and put my entry in...

Evil weevil, maybe we should hit Gatesy up for the entry fees - I already have the 'enthusiast' windscreen tape

Well an awesome weekend for team MX5 Racing.  We had 5 NC's entered and Zane debuting the NB.  Friday practice started with Geoff and Corey getting to know both the cars and circuit while Ken was in a new car for him and the Rev having not dríven a NC here before.  Geoffs car developed an ABS issue so we took him out of that car, swapped over the seat and roof and set him up in the spare.  Corey found his car a little soft so we did some running changes to get it more neutral for him.  Ken  and the Rev wanted their cars stiffened in the front and we also did some tyre pressure adjustments.
Over the course of the weekend all 5 guys traded laptimes, positions and class wins time and time again.  Ken had a moment out of Suttons and grazed the wall in Fridays last race but we had him back on track for the 1st race on Saturday.  Geoff found himself mixing it up with everyone and managed to get mixed up in someone elses accident resulting in a little bit of damage but was able to finish the race allbeit a lap down.  Corey was driving like a demon carving his way through the field before running a little wide and having to do it all over again.  The Rev was his usual consistent self putting in some great times and Zane was having a great debut with the black beauty, which he was driving the wheels off.  Going into the last couple of races the points were wide open with any of the boys a chance of taking out the silverware.  In the 2nd last race the Rev managed to get wide at the exit of the esses and tagged the fence so that took him out of the equation.  Due to time restraints the last race had the laps reduced and when the dust settled Corey was 1st in class followed by Zane, Geoff, Rev and Ken had the spoils.  Heaps of fun and all the boys were great to work with, asking for advice and listening to the tips on the track and setup.  Will get all the cars back to the shop and get them all back in shape for the next one.  No doubt a few of the others will add their comments on the action.

All in all a good weekend out to go and see.

David from Mania won all the MX-5 races outright plus the rocket sports.
I think the fastest time David did was 1:17.05 from what I heard from the PA system.

The funniest thing of the day being a spectator was watching all the bogan commodore loving spectators.
They watch the shitbox HDT cars and crappy old commodores in production racing, but as soon as the MX-5's come out they walk away saying how crap and slow they are. I don't think they realised the 5's were doing much, much quiker laps.
The best part was listening to one bogan who thought by putting an LS1 in an MX-5 would make it go better, like wtf!!! He was going on how ypu would have to put 650 lb springs at the front to support the engine.

The 5's were one of the fastest groups of cars there, bar some of the openwheelers and crazy english toy car things. Oh and the touring cars were a bit quicker, but they have 600HP!

Sounds like a good weekend was had. :D

What happened to CT?

An LS1 in an MX5 isn't that bad an idea. They are not heavy.
