Thinking of running a minimum weight in 2F for this. Was thinking 1050kg with driver for an NA. More for an NB ect. Thoughts?

Great idea. 8)

Now if we can just get the diff ratios sorted??

Is it CAMS 2F regs or Qld 2F regs?

Maybe we should just do a "run what you brung" and forget about the classes....

Don't want this great event to get tied down in the various debates about what's legal and what's not...

I agree that the diff ratio is the main area that needs to be policed.

I'm sure there are some cars running 4.7 in 2f which gives them some puch out of the tight turns.

How can you check without pulling the diff apart?

Jack it up and count the wheel revolutions compared to the tailshaft revolutions?

Yep, thats the quickest and easiest. Only take a few minutes per car.

Sounds great to me!!

Maybe an email bulletin with a reminder of the basic key areas can be sent out so there is no confusion -

Diff ratios - listing what's eligible for the different models NA/NB/NC
Passenger seats (mind you Bretto's sold his car so we don't have to worry about him cheating again )
Window glass

and if it's decided to run one - Minimum weights

That would be great for us new chums.... especially if there were some links to the relevant regs, so there can be no arguements about whose rules we are running under

I never met a horsepower I didn't like (thanks bwob)

Build thread

NB SE - gone to the dark side (and loving it 8) )

The idea of this weekend is to get as many MX5's on the track on the same weekend and have fun clean racing all weekend. We are not racing for sheep stations!

We are not going to be Natzi's about the rules but want to give as much a level playing field as possible so if somebody is clearly cheating (or bending the rules) we will ask them to comply with the cams manual or run in appropriate class.

Don't get to hung up on the legalities, use the Cams manual as a guide and you will be fine.
