Front Strut Brace Question

Seems my memory of it was a bit off :P

That being said, having a rod joining the main pillar to the side turrets seems more sturdy than just having the one point of connection in some of the lighter weight constructions. Every time I look at those I just see the thing shifting on it's joint. I suppose mine would do the same, but for some reason I think it's more solid. Probably just me trying to justify that mine must be better because I bought it :P

I've seen identical strut braces to mine with an explicit Mazdaspeed sticker/engraving/plate/whatever, however mine itself doesn't have any branding on it.

I'm fairly sure this was the strut brace used on the 10AE, and some NB8Bs. Correct me if I'm wrong though...

Looks the same as mine:

Maybe you could get your gf to knit one out of string. It would be cheaper, lighter, just as effective and it would give her a positive sense of involvement in your hobby.

I can't talk about the RS (never seen one in WA) but it's definitely not a Mazdaspeed strut brace.
I just happen to have one of these rare puppies

Front Strut Brace Question

As posted on my thread on the MX5 Garage Chat...I've finally purchased my front strut bar.

I ended up getting the Cusco Carbon Fibre Strut Brace. Here are some pix

It's extremely light. I don't think the 2kg weight that Mania says on their website is accurate. It felt a lot lighter than that. It felt closer to 1kg that it is to 2kgs.

Hey Zombie, keep an eye on your radiator. It's now badly discoloured (brownish/green), I've been told when the top of the radiator on the 5 gets like this, its a sign that its passed its used by date.
