Having dríven NA6, NB8A, NB8BSE and NC, all in standard form, the figures seem about right.

Dyno Nite --- yes yes & yes!

Postby joni » Sun Feb 24, 2008 8:46 pm

Hello peoples ..

Will get onto this asap - possibly Caulfield Jaguar as a location - any thoughts? I may approach DJ to sort this one out - I think from memory there is a crew of a few that run this for the Club.

Leave it with moi!

I will post as soon as we have a date,

Cheers, Joni

Caulfield Jag were very helpful, the time I went, but I was an unitiated novice to Dynos in practice (not in theory) at the time.

Go cart day?

To practice and learn how to take corners, to study the apex...

To feel the effects and benifits of reduced weight...
every ounce counts

actually that is a great idea. shame i have such a bad back tho, i think a go kart might ruin what's left of my spine.

I would go to a go-kart day. Infact I will be going to a lot of the meets after around a months time  I just filled out the membership form too!

GoKarts shouldn't be too bad on your back, although I'm saying this not knowing specific details. All i know is that my Dad's back isn't the best & he's fine in one.

I've read some of the old MX-TRA's and the go kart comps against other car clubs seem like great fun!

I'm going karting this sat evening with some mates of mine. It's a turn up and drive format so if anyone's interested...

Hi Joni, I was looking into a Go-Kart day at Silhouette Karts in Somerton.
For 8 or more drivers they arrange a Grand Prix package.
Maximum of 12 Karts on track at one time
2x10 minute sessions $55 per head
3x10 minute sessions $75 per head
4x10 minute sessions $95 per head
These prices include practice - qualifying and race sessions.
Race Management.
Lap time print outs for each driver.
Post race presentation & prizes.
Free use of BBQ facilities

Have a look at their site www.silhouettekarts.com.au
I can chase it up if we get enough interest
Cheers Dennis

Sounds good, although the $55/75 ones sound better :P .

I can also recomend this place http://www.gokartsport.com/

Very good facility, worth calling them too to get a price off them

I've been there. It was absolutely pissing down raining outside and the roof was not exactly water tight. After our race was delayed for quite some time we got under way with a few buckets/chicanes on the track to dodge. I can't say I expected a wet race at an indoor venue but it was good fun and they gave us extra laps.

I've also been to Ace Karts (http://www.acekarts.com.au/). Very good track, much bigger than the indoor ones and good karts. Both were $70 for 30 mins IIRC. I'm super keen for karting!

The track at Phillip Island looked pretty shmik. It's exactly the same layout as the main track. Don't know what the carts etc. are like though but am told they're ok. Would be good to cruise down to the island for the day with a few spots to meet up alolng the way.
Cheers
Mark
