Went for a drive and there were slow cars everywhere, why are NC's so common . . . must be NC = Normally Cardiganed.

Hi peeps.

I went to Jake's dodgy day earlier this year!

I'm close to preston so I would def. be interested.

I have a clutch to put in. Not sure if it is a too bigger job.

My suggestion is maybe a little later on when the weather isnt so miserable! preferably when it is warmer!

I have air tools too :D

To set the record straight: the Dodgy Brothers garage was principally at Dodgy Sab's place (though Dodgy Steve's, Dodgy Andrew's and Dodgy Matty's were also used on occasion). Lots of space, air tools, and a wife with a constant supply of food and drink. Hard to beat. The main years were ~2002-2004 I'd guess.

The Dodgy Days faded out for several reasons, not limited to: a) we'd pretty much done all the mods we could think of, and b) the disappearance of some of the Brothers and their respective cars...

well i've been stuffing around so much on this, sorry everyone. i figured i would stop procrastinating and just bite the bullet and pay a proffesional to do the brakes and suspension , as i'm just not confident enough in my own abilities. it's not something you want to mess with unless you really know what you're doing, i reckon. so my car is now at centreline getting the bushes, diff, brakes and teins installed.

still keen on a dodgy day as there are heaps of other little things to do on my car, but i'll do it properly and announce a firm date etc, in a few weeks.

sorry for stuffing around and being so airy fairy with all this stuff !

You don't need to be anything like a pro to do your suspension and brakes. Even the most basic of manuals would get you through it without issue, assuming knowledge of how to use a ratchet/spanner. Your money, though...

fair enough, but i just want it done and i can't seem to find the time or inspiration to get started. work is starting to get busy again.

i reckon i've saved a fair bit of money by doing a bunch of dodgy stuff myself (turbo etc), so i'm not too fussed about it. i just want the car up and running and in top top shape asap.

i still have a few dodgy projects on the go. new paint job,, new nose, megasquirt, interior rejuvination.... when does it ever end !?!?!?!

Picking a date would have been the hardest part Fatty. There's a few guys here that would be more than willing to help you out including myself. I've done suspension and brakes myself. Bushes might be different but I'm sure someone would have done the dif before. Anyway the point is pick a date and they will come :D

You need to get some grey hair Fatty.
I bought some suspension bits from the US, put them in couple of weeks ago. Brakes have been pulled apart and put back in. Just did my main crank seal, cam seals, timing belt and fitted a sports air filter. (Took off the $2.00 special you saw) Found a lot of useful info on the net, especially in regards the timing belt change.
Only problem I had was getting under the car and twisting the poor old body around to undo bolts etc.
Sadly MX5 less for a while.
