Sounds typical wheel bearing. Ca't remember how much. Around $100
Most likely cheaper if you do it yourself. Suggest check others at the same time as they can tend to go around the same time as I found out.
Rolling Noise…need new tyres or wheel bearing?

dont go straight to mazda for a bearing. some times other places like SKF and FAG can be loads cheaper and the quality dosnt vary all that much. SKF are more then trustable.
as far as checking goes you can do a lift check and see how much clearance is in the bearing and compare that to specified.... but thats going a little far... id just jack up the suspect corner and see if i could wobble the wheel and feel how rooted or if it was rooted at all.

These cars (NA in particular) seem to transmit a lot of rear end and road noise into the cabin when the roof is up. I've had at least two \"mechanics\" claim that the rear wheel bearings are stuffed - but they aren't.
One way to tell if it's a bearing is get on a smooth wide open road and weave from side to side. If the noise gets worse or stops when the wheel on one side is loaded/unloaded then that would indicate a bearing problem.
