Production Sports Wakefield 27th and 28th April

Postby Deckspeed Racing » Thu Apr 25, 2013 8:48 am

This weekend is Production Sports is running 2 x 1 hours races on the same weekend.

The new format offers alot beter value for money and twice the action.

Deckspeed will be running a 2.5 litre NC in class C. If the weather is good we hope to break into the 1.06s again.

Not sure about good value for money, 2 entry fees to do the 2, 1 hour races...

I'll be at the Modern sports cars.
NC Roadie, NC Racey, ND Racey….and a 30AE

Plus several others in the bone yard...

Originally I was going to do this event, when they were talking about a separate race for category c and 2f cars. But after seeing the enrty list was dominated by GT cars I did not bother

3 mx5s under 1.07. Nick Cancian wow  !

That Lotus is a weapon. Pretty top level setup, sequential gearbox etc.

Really good, Dad managed a 1:06:4 in the NC... unfortunately in the 1 hour one of the speedflow fittings on the oil system came loose on the NC and he had to put it in the garage to fix it and that means you are out in prod sports... car was fixed and now all the fittings have been double checked and ready to go again tomorrow.

I had a good day with Nathan as well. didn't throw the new tyres on it till Nathan's quali, but i still managed a 1:08:8 on a set of old dunlops that had done 2 1 hours and 2 mx5 challenge rounds and it turned out weren't holding air (Car went out with 24psi on the loaded side of the car and the front came back in hot with 23psi!!!!) so really happy with that time.

Super happy with the speed we keep getting out of the NC everytime it heads out and for consistent lap pace its getting to the point where it is faster than just about all the NBs & NAs even those with "fast motors..."

Nick was goning great guns, winning class untill 3 mins from the end boiled the fluid and lost all brakes going into the final turn hitting the wall doing some serious damage. (what initially looked like just a front bar has shown a tad more :/) He is ok but the car is a tad second hand :/

Weekends racing is over.. had newer tyre's for tomorrow as well :/

well done to daniel as well!! you have that thing cranking!! :)

I can say I was the best finishing MX-5

Postby oztrackdays » Sun Apr 28, 2013 12:00 am

Chris and I were also the only MX5 that finished but that seems to be less relevant.

Perfect weather and due to attrition in the Field 19 entrants and only 8 finished the 1 hour.

Hopefully a few more can get going again for tomorrow.
