NSW/Vic INTERSTATE CHALLENGE 2012 - Phillip Island, 30 June

Postby Tony » Wed May 23, 2012 10:53 am

Supp Regs and entry forms are now out. Should be available on the AROCA or MX5 Vic web sites, or I can forward the email from Neil Choi.

All PI events fill very quickly, so act now! We need as many NSW entrants as possible.

The aroca club want 50 of there cars and 85 total. The mx5 club want 50 cars from vic and 25 cars from nsw. I can see the 85 car cap blowing out in a big way.

This could work though.

75 MX5s and 10 alfas in the 85 limit.

Then at 10am when those 10 alfas have broken down, allow a different 10 alfas to make up the numbers, and so on.

By the end of the day we'd have 75 mx5s and 50 alfas all with the same amount of track time as they always get....

I doubt that you'll have 25 from NSW.
I'm overseas :D :( and I know a few of the PISS regulars can get there either.
Hope the weather's fine for the event.

I'm out too. We're flying to Fiji for a holiday on 1st July and I will be occupied with packing when I'd otherwise be driving home from PI. :( As compensation, I've entered in the 6 Hour Regularity Relay at Phillip Island on 4th/5th August ... in one of the three teams we're sending down.

Where did you hear about that 85 total? At their PI meeting in December they fielded 120+ cars, including 50 MX5s and 48 Alfas. Even with that sized field I logged 35 flying laps.

The entry form states a max of 84 cars, though me thinks its a copy and paste hangover from the last meet at Sandown.
We've always had 100+ cars at PI meets...

OMG, you've been reading the entry form before you filled it in. I'd never thought of that!

Hi
Phillip Island is on my bucket list, can anyone enter? I wouldn't mind going next year, for the experience.

Chris, PI is a fantastic track - arguably the best in the country. You'd be welcome at any of the MX-5 Club of Victoria rounds and only need a CAMS L2S licence and a few minor extras (blue battery triangle etc).

Cool Bryan, well I have just got my L2S so that's out of the way. Once I get my car fully sorted I may just go down to PI and have a "leisurely" turn or two around the circuit. I've got to get those CAMS markings as well.
hmmm. food for thought.
