manualised power rack.
Your crazy.
I've had the PS belt come off mid corner many moons ago... t'was an interesting experience, then i had to drive around for a bit on manual mode. Great upper body workout but never again.
ah hyes but mine has the fluid and seal removed, so its pretty close to the manual racks effort, just a slightly quicker ratio, 15:1 vs 18:1.

NB8B is heaps better than the NB8A. NB8C is sweet. But does not seem as sweet as the NA6 power steering.
remind me never to drive a NB8B/C or an NA with power steering
ignorance is bliss

I dont think its the manual rack or Torsen making your car understeer Stan, mine doesnt understeer at all, just a touch of oversteer if you really push it
I quite liked my standard Clubman Bilsteins until I changed the stock springs for some Kings, wasnt so nice after that. With the new coilovers its bloody nice. And bloody low. I REALLY need to roll the crap out of my guards before I drive it again
I don't find the manual rack to be too heavy, even with wideish offset wheels and stickyish tyres. Its noticably lighter with crappier narrower tyres, but I dont have a problem with it. I'm looking at going for a de-powered power rack at some point though

Its personal opinion which is subjectve. NB8A Power steering is my least prefered option of the MX5's. this does not mean the NB8A's are bad.
I personally just don't like the PS on them thats all.

Sasso wrote:STM if the car you were comparing yours to was Kula's car then I'm not surprised, he has all the good quality mods on it.
The suspension bushes, butterfly brace and all the other braces, cusco coilovers and thick sway bars would make a massive difference.
wasn't comapring Kulas car at any stage. Kulas car is a different animal to my own. in every way.
the point was although I expecetd Zi's car to be different it was very similar handling to another car which was almost exact set up as my own.
cars can handle extreemly well without all the fancy stuff. My journey is about what that is...... I hope I'm making sense.
Coil overs could be part of the reason. but certainly not all of it.
quicker ratio is defenatly part of it.....but probably only part of equasion.
