A nice day at the GP circuit, some good times too. I left early, so I am not sure of the final results.
Thanks to David for the loan of his baby, what a fun experience! Including a 180 in T6 ... The car is a roller skate, very sharp and chuckable, you could have a ball in it and I know David does! It made an interesting comparison to my white car, which is a softer beast. I may have to rethink my setup after this experience.

Agree with what everyone else said it was a great day for it with nice weather. As always it was good catching up with the MX5 crew and also cool to see a couple of the Evo guys I haven't seen in a while.
I was stoked to beat my previous PB by 0.38 seconds and get down into the 50’s with a 1:50.94 on the official timing.
A quick video of my PB lap:

Another great day, save for the continual drama in Group 2. Not sure what was going on there but their sessions seemed to constantly end in the kitty litter or with prangs, broken cars, etc... Meant Group 3 seemed to constantly be driving through crap on the circuit.
I started the day playing on some old slicks to see if I could get them to come back to life and give me a few hot laps. They remained very much dead in spite of me putting on my best Nick Coulson impression. I persevered for a second session on them and lost that session too.
So... back on with the A050s, but we then battled with some tuning issues through the third session. Still got within a few hundredths of Chris Muir but could only manage a 1:47 dead.
We got the tune more or less fixed for a final session at the end of the day, but the organisers tossed Groups 2 and 3 together and there were slower cars all over the place. I only got one half decent lap without traffic, a 1:46.93 (including a couple of mistakes) - but Chris managed a 1:46.74 in the same session. A worthy winner but with a clean lap I might have been a chance! Video to follow.
Not to worry, was still a great day and I enjoyed perving on Jean's ND along with everyone else

T6 claimed a few MX-5s yesterday. Two others went through the cones closing off the south circuit. One even managed to drag a cone around the track for a lap and a half! It was nicely chewed up by the time it was fished out back in the pit garage.

Nice photos Dweezle. I didn't even notice you take most of them...certainly not the ones I'm in above!
Despite the track feeling quite slippery early in the day, as it was quite cold, it was a day for PBs, and I grabbed mine too. Well done all.

My contribution to the PB video collection, including a fluffed gear change coming onto the straight. All constructive comments welcome!

The angle between your fore finger and thumb is all wrong. And you need more twist in your wrist. No wonder you are fluffing changes! Have you measured the coefficient of friction between your glove and your knob? If it's too much you could try polishing...

Mark, clean lap! I reckon you could turn into 4 a bit later and avoid having to fight it as much between 4 and 5, and also carry more speed through 9 and use the concrete on the exit. My non-expert opinion
