Wakefield 300

Postby BigDaddy » Fri Feb 08, 2013 11:25 pm

Hi all, this is my first post on here. So this is kind of an intro, some of you may know me as Adam Ronke, from Winton Motor Raceway, and NSW racers will know my brother Matthew at Wakefield Park.

Since buying my first MX5 I have become addicted to them, I had a NA6 which I put the 1.8 into then sold that and bought the NB, and now another NB, and will probably get myself a NC soon.

Just wanted to mention that there is 18 MX5's entered in the Wakefield 300, thats amazing in my opinion. I am personally running 2 cars, the blue NB8B with Terry Nightingale and Jeff Phillips driving, and the Silver turbo NB with myself and Warren Sheehan driving.

There are also MX5 support races on the weekend, so I was wondering who else is having a run.

Hi Adam

Yep i will be there. This will be my first crack at the Wakefiled 300. I got sick of doing the mx5 support races and watching everyone else have all the fun in the 300, so i decided to give it a shot. :D I will be driving with Daniel in the number 25 car.

I agree 18 MX5's on the grid is an amazing effort. I think it just shows how good a race car these things actually make. I know one or two other people from here have entered as well

I'm a bit sad that I won't be competing... Probably shouldn't have put my car up for sale

Am starting to get withdrawal symptoms already... Don't think super sprinting my NCLE is going to be as much fun...

I wonder what the mix of MX5 models is, we are taking 3 NCs and are currently building a 4th NC should be ready for next MRA round.

No support race for me or the 300.
Hoping to be there in 2014.

For those who have teamed up with people, how do you do it? Just half all costs?
Looking for an SVT motor for this:

Sounds like you would be the perfect co-driver :D . Let me know if you're interested in a co-driver. Ok, I'd be prepared to pay for the drive.

Regards - John

PS. Anyone else interested in teaming up for 2014 or maybe Winton 300 for 2013? This is of course if things don't pan out with BigDaddy :)

I'd log all the costs and who paid for it, add it together, work out who had paid how much and then split the difference so we both paid half of it. We generally try to take turns taking each others cars for the race so half seemed fairest. If he was the only one providing a car then i'd skew it in his favor depending on how much wear the car took . Between entry, accomodation, fuel, tyre use, brake pad use, pit crew accomadation and clothing etc I think we do about $1400 on a wet event, $2500 on a dry one to split. That included some extra stuff like buying a big fire extinguisher for refueling. I have it logged somewhere here just not at hand... that's a 90kw supersprint car that was dríven to the event and then home again too.

We both out this year unfortunately, both our cars are off the road.

Mazmad, are saying you want to team up? If so my car or yours?

Come to think of it I have my car for sale. Might pose a problem.
