Nice one! Pretty different to Wakefield, I prefer it a little bit with all the twisters!

Not sure about times but from go pro footage anywhere between 47-49 seconds in my NB

49.3 in my stock NA6 a few years ago when the track first opened. Have only been back once since then for the club's driver training day in 2011. Big fan of the old PerformanceBox!

On my first day there iirc the best run was 48.8.

My timing equipment was giving me grief on my second time there. From memory I had a couple of clean sets of data with laps in the low 47 second range.

Stock 1998 with sticky tyres.

edit: I should say that the folks at the track are super friendly, and the 'instruction' is well worth the money. I'll certainly be going back regularly.

Had a great time yesterday at Marulan with Russ, Phil and Dave. The four of us had the whole track to ourselves! We were doing 10 minutes on / 10 minutes off, packed up at 2pm, and still got about 75 laps. We swapped cars throughout the day, so that we could try out each other's cars. I did a new PB in my stock NA6 (48.91s). Phil's car is a stock NA6 like mine, except he has power steering, different brake pads and a different wheel alignment - in my sole run in his car my best lap was 50.27s (the difference was me not being fully tuned to the brakes and steering feel). I didn't have the timer going when I had a go in Dave's modified NB8B - it's a superb car to drive thanks in no small part to his recent fitment of a Type 2 Torsen, which made it heaps of fun in the corners. Then I jumped into Russ's modified NC and did a best lap of 45.77s - it was also fabulous to drive, with heaps of grip (R-specs) and excellent brakes. The 930m track is very tricky and the highest speed I reached was only 112km/hr (in the NC), so the track is very relevant to real-world limits.

So all up, a totally enjoyable day with great weather, heaps of time on the track, lots of laughs off the track, and a relaxing chat over a couple beers at Berrima Pub on the way home. Thanks for the great day fellas.

The MX-5 Club of NSW has another driver training day at Marulan scheduled for 13 July.

I'd love to have another informal run at Marulan, but my calendar is already looking really busy. Probably won't get a chance for a while. :(

i went down there for the first time at Christmas and really enjoyed it. I wasn't in my car but would like to see what it could do

they were extending the final corner complex when i was there making the last corner a faster banked turn onto the main straight which they thought would increase the top speed by about 30kmh at the end of the main straight. Looking forward to going back when that is finished

Won my class too.... WOO!

There were a few mxers from the forum there also. Although they were turbo na6's
