Do we know what the go with the Natmeet track day is yet? As in are non-Natmeet Entrants allowed to play?

Do you have to be a MX5 Club of NSW to enter? I'm a member of another CAMS club though.

I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm on the wrong track, but I believe the Club's Wakefield events are run through AASA not CAMS. Therefore I'm not sure if the blanket CAMS style "multi-club" invitation applies. Visitors are certainly welcome there's no doubt about that, but I think it would a matter of courtesy to discuss with Mike Hicks before sending in an entry.

I went to a club track day with only a CAMS L2S license and a membership for another CAMS-affiliated club (not the MX-5 club).

Perhaps you did, but I think you missed my point. Let me try to break it down this way:

1. I believe the Club's Wakefield events are run with a AASA event permit, not a CAMS event permit.
2. If the event is being run under a AASA permit and you are not a member of the MX5 Club, being a member of another CAMS affiliated club does not automatically entitle you to enter (as it otherwise would if the event was being held as a CAMS "multi-club" event, i.e. open to anyone who is a member of a CAMS affiliated car club).
3. In most cases I'm sure your entry would be accepted, however if you are not a member of the MX5 Club may I suggest that it would be a matter of courtesy to discuss your participation with Mike Hicks before sending in an entry.

I hope this goes some way to answering the original question asked above.

Licencing is mentioned in Bryan's first post and it gets caught up in the AASA / CAMS confusion too.

For those not familiar with competition licencing, the "Wakefield Licence" as used at club days is issued through the AASA (Australian Auto Sport Alliance). When the event is run under a AASA permit, the AASA will also recognise CAMS licences. Therefore to compete at club days at Wakefield Park, both the AASA "Wakefield Licence" and CAMS L2S licence are OK.

However, CAMS do not recognise AASA licences, so if the event is being held under a CAMS event permit (i.e. at Eastern Creek or at one of the CAMS State Supersprint rounds at Wakefield Park), a CAMS L2S licence is required as a minimum. Your "Wakefield Licence" is not acceptable.

Long story short (and as highlighted by Bryan), you'll need a CAMS licence to compete at MX5 Club events at Eastern Creek next year.

I hope this helps too...

Well said Tony - we got there in the end.

And to answer Joe's question ...

My understanding is that the NatMeet trackday on 8th April (my birthday!) is primarily intended for NatMeet registrants. However, if numbers are in loss-making territory, it is likely that entries from non-NatMeet drivers will be accepted. It's too early to be any more definitive than that. Oh and it is likely that the event will be "street tyres only" (those on R-specs will be ineligible for points/awards). Not sure if this event will count towards the annual championship score. I'll find out ...

Gotta love NearMap! 8)

Here is the plan for the two new layouts. Looks like turn 6 will be taken out, and a new pit area for the South Circuit will be added next to the old turn 5. Both will remain anti-clockwise circuits, as far as I'm aware. I don't think many MX-5s will get out of third gear on the South Circuit. Looks like a lot of fun though.

Allegedly this is straight from ARDC. Let me know if you can't see it, it's an attachment from another forum I'm a member of.
