Put in for class 7. Some nice easy laps around the circuit. No broken gearboxes or flat tyres. Just nice and easy...

The "limited modifications" are not defined ... but a little bird told me that those in modified NCs who're lapping in 1:10-1:11 can expect to be bumped to Class 9 (ie. Phil A and Ralph). Russell, Rob, Peter F, etc will be left to battle it out in this class.

For those with road-registered modified NCs who're worried about what class they should enter, don't panic! I recommend that you put "Class 7" on your entry form. I suspect Mike's definition of "limited modifications" is deliberately vague and intended to only target specific drivers rather than their list of modifications. Otherwise, your list of permitted modifications should be guided by Type 2 Supersprint regulations.

Sent my entry form off last night and it has been received by Zan. I'm entered in Class 4 (Clubman) with a standard NA6. Should be fun!

Yep, just confirmed with Mike that Ralph, Andrew, Steve, Mark (pre turbo) and myself have been shuffled up into Class 9 Race Cars. We’ve been very close in times over the past few years with only 10ths of a second separating us, so the battle will continue for us but now it also brings in Chris and Denis with the race prepped NC’s.

I just had a look back at some results from way back in 2006 and 2007 and it still amazes me that road going NC’s can get around Wakefield in the times we are doing now.

When I started running my NC back in 2005, I could only dream that the car would break into the 1:13s. The fastest car in July 2006 was Verne Johnson in GURGLR with a 1:10.40. My NC with just some King Springs did 1:15.03.
In March 2007 FTD was Barry Faux in a Bullet with a 1:10.35, Russell Battison was the quickest turbo NB with a 1:11.85 and Peter Browning in Fanta did a 1:10.76. I decided to head for R specs after this round as the Toyo T1R’s were over 2 seconds a lap slower than the OEM Michelin’s, time 1:17.14.

Last meeting times for the NC’s were Ralph 1:10.16  , Denis 1:10.25 and myself 1:10.33. In the NB’s Steve 1:10.60, Andrew 1:10.91, Mark 1:11.07 (in Andrew’s car) Dave Hammon in his SE, prior to blow up, did a 1:10.69.

So farewell to Class 7, we're leaving it to Pete, Rob, Russ and Rog to battle it out until their times drop into the 1:11’s and they are promoted to Class 9. 8)

Entry form submitted for Class 1. Has been a while since the last trackday. Must say I'm not sure about Guran being bumped to class 4 - seems a bit like Mike feels sorry for the rest of us

I'd put money on me being moved to class 10 to play with Patrick. I plan on running semi-slicks with the turbo which *fingers crossed* is about 2 months away. Doubtful I'll be able to make this clubday, will need to find out what Andrew's plans are. Andrew should give the NC's a good run though soon, his car is far from finished and he's taking the calipers off my car when I upgrade which should fix one of the major difficulties driving it. Once she's balanced and running right...he should go faster than my car ever did NA. He got into 1:10's with faulty coil packs last trackday. 8)
