Welcome,
To enter you will need two things, CAMS Lic. number and Club membership number. For your CAMS lic. you just need your MX5 Club (or other) membership number and go online to the CAMS website and buy one. They will then send it out to you.
On the day of the event you need Club membership card, and your CAMS Lic. to check in for the day.
Not sure how the WRX day will run but usually we can get someone in the car with you for your first session to talk you around the track.
If it your first track day in your MX5, let Daniel or Rob (MX5 Club Vic. Motorsport Captains) know by return email and he will make sure a Club member introduces themselves on the day. They will talk through the day and scrutineering etc.
The MX5 Club Motorsport crew are a great bunch of people and welcome newbies...
Hope you enjoy your first track day at Phillip Island, it's addictive!!!!!!!

Is anybody interested in sharing a caravan/tent site at the island on the Friday night (16th) before the event?
This can avoid a very early start for those of us 3 hours away.

Are you running the fastback Brendan? I have put #146 into open class now.

I notice the WRX club run a Super Sprint format. That will be fun, something allot of the MX5 crew wont have experienced before

What's super sprint format? ie how does that differ from normal MX5 club events?

In supersprints, the cars are usually sent out in pairs without a pace-car, but the second car quickly backs off to give themselves space. Racing is not permitted. At AROCA events, they usually send out the cars one at a time behind a pace-car which exits the track at Honda corner. Having been to a WRX event at Phillip Island before, I suggest you all take some good reading material and a healthy dose of patience.

That car looks hot. There is a similar one in my driveway. Let's hope for some good weather.

Do you have an entry list? I did the online entry, but did not get any confirmation.

May I just say a big thank you to anyone involved for a great day!
Even though I missed out two stints due to the PA not working and a WRX deciding to move a tire barrier that couldn't be fixed till 5 I had good time.
A since I was talking to two other newbies may I suggest that next time maybe a fee of the more seasoned track people take us under thier wing and either take one of ills out in tier car or join us in oursto show us the ropes and such?
Also no one told us about the passenger lap and the need to sign up for that as that would have been a terrific opportunity to learn about the track....
