I haven't done the GOR in my Roadster yet either . . . VERY interested Chrissy . . . I might be able to talk my brother, who has just retired to Melb., into keeping the sun off the leather of my second seat . . .

sounds like a great idea - is a shame about the change of speed limit but at least maintaining the needle on 80 around the corners is easier than 100....plus they have upgraded the road surface so will be safer for all concerned
the only issue might be the amount of traffic on the GOR itself, but then you can always head inland a bit and there are some fantasic "less traveled" roads to have a go on
bring on the Sun!

Not wanting to put a downer on your plans, but you may find it hard to get accomodation....but worse still the roads will be chocker with holiday makers/tourists...you will be lucky to do 60KmH, let alone 80KmH.
IMHO of course.......

Sounds good Chrissy, depending on when it is I'd love to come, I'm hanging out to put faces to people on here and go for a cruise.
Its true about accomodation, will probably be difficult.... but here's an idea... how about an early morning run, beat the traffic stop for brekkie in say Lorne and keep going... that way if its only a day trip it won't be to late to head back to Melbourne if we were to go to Apollo bay or further... anyway just an idea.... whatya think Chrissy???

An early morning run (7am from Geelong) sounds good on about the 28th so that people can still go away for new years. We can also cruise down towards Port Campbell and over all the in roads in the area. Lavers Hill, Skenes Creek and Deans marsh are terriffic runs in land and they are away from the traffic. Accom in Geelong is probably the most viable but that would be up to the individuals.
Sounds great and good idea Chrissy.
