Hey guys,
for those that have had experience with one or the other or both - what are your thoughts?

I was looking at the e420 brand new, but have found the e1280s second hand and slightly cheaper....

is it worth spending a tiny bit more (50 bucks!) on a brand new one, or taking the risk with a second handy for cheaper?

I thought the e1280s ECU was the a latest and greatest and worth twice as much.

I think Mania have turned with both.

yeah the e1280s brand new is alot more than the e420, but second hand...I wasnt sure if it would be good for my needs.

Actually, scrap that - last car I had second hand sh*t and ended up costing me more in long run.

BUT....to throw a spanner in the works, someone has recommended to me...Moristech ECU's
Another aussie company - anyone had any dealings with them?

Both BitRusty and I have e420c ECUs running our daily drives, they work quite well but don't expect them to be like OEM.

what have you done which you feel requires the ECU?
