I was just wondering if i buy the actual set of actuators with remotes, or buy an alarm that connects to the factory central locking to make it keyless?

As a matter of fact ..... yes.

Definitely go for a complete alarm package with the keyless entry - and while youré at it, go for the automatic window up option and movement sensor. It must be my warped sense of humour but I just love it when I'm out for a Coffee with the top down and someone decides to stick their head into the cabin space .... my alarm siren is mounted above the pedals, so it makes stealing the car so hard when you have to have your fingers in your ears

YEah thats pretty clever but what i wanted to know, was if for now if i wanted to install keyless entry. Would i have to buy new actuators? Or do the factory actuators work with a standard alarm system. So if i bought actuators today would i be able to fit them?

I used my factory actuators.

But if yours are faulty, it doesn't cost very much nor is it very difficult to replace them.

I'll second that, at least factory actuators are guaranteed to fit perfectly.

So how does the keyless entry work with the factory actuators, in my case, where i dont actually have keyless entry only central locking.

A keyless entry module or an Alarm Module will have a momentary set of contacts which are then wired to the actuator on the drivers door. The drivers side has a master actuator which locks and unlocks both doors when the key is turned.
You will need the wiring schematics for your model and a multimeter to connect it all up.

Any Auto Electrician can do it for you or any of your friends who are good with electronics / electrical, you can buy a basic Controller from Jaycar for $59.95 - here is the link.
Your biggest expense would be for the labour, good luck with it :D

Full function car alarms are quite cheap, like I said the labour involved is the killer.

Only problem is that i may have trouble fixing the central locking problem in which there is an intermittent fault with the slave actuator locking when the master actuator is locked.
