Hi, I have a question that i need answered so that i can go ahead and make my purchase. Ive called the suspension company and researched online and they said that it can get close maybe.

Story cut short, i want to know that if I buy a coilover kit, can I install them and keep the car at factory height??
Ive looked online and in the descriptionit says 'height difference from standard' = '20mm' or some other height. So not sure.
Coilovers im looking at are Tein Flex Z.

According to the chart, for an NA8 the maximum adjustment in height is:

Front 82mm lower than stock to 15mm higher than stock
Rear 103mm lower than stock to 11mm lower than stock

Bear in mind the site says these are MAXIMUM adjustment figures, and the recommended adjustment zones are a narrower window (also listed)

So seems like theres no way it can be installed at factory height?

Not as they come from the factory.

You could maybe put in longer springs or something?

The suspension guy told me that it could be possible if you adjust the ride height and adjust spring height. But then he said he isnt 100% certain. This is where it brings me too great confusion.

I even emailed tein. And they referred me to the suspension company that i already asked. So yeh, reason why i ask here.

You could get something like the garagestar top mount spacers for a little bit of extra ride height.

The rear drop in those NA8 springs is 11mm. Honestly that's never going to be noticeable. The height variation between individual cars on stock springs is far greater than that.

If you can actually identify what standard height is for an NA8 (and I personally haven't been able to do that in 10 years) and you really do insist on retaining a standard height then you can easily change the rear springs.

The specs for the Tein Flex Z rears springs are:
Spring rate: 6 Kg/mm
Free length: 150mm
Inside diameter: 70 mm

Tein sell a huge range of springs to suit their coilovers. I would just move up to springs with a free length of 175 or 200 mm but with the same 6 Kg/mm spring rate and 70mm inside diameter.
Either SW060-01175 or SB060-01200 on this page would do it.

You really need to find someone with the exact same coilovers you wish to purchase and get them to measure their adjustments. Most coilovers have 50-60mm of adjustment in them. But you'll need to know if that adjustment start at stock height or 20-25mm lower than stock height. Most would normally be 20-25mm lower than stock. But it is different for every brand and type of coilover.

The problem with the suggestions of using long springs is that you adjust the shock stroke and that will negatively effect the shocks performance. While it might fix the height issue. It will create another issue.

If you were happy with a 20-25mm lower car, then any coilovers on the market will do. If you want less than that. You'll need to chase specific owners willing to do measurements.

Yeh i guess i will have to find someone. But i couldnt believe the suspension specialist couldnt help me out.

You just need to know the full extended length of the shock.

If its within 10 or 20mm of stock you can get OEM rideheight, although you may need to purchase optional springs which are longer.

The suspension guy probably hasn't ever been asked this question, honestly.
