all sounds normal to me. I get sore wrists after driving twisties all day from the steering.

My steering is heavier because of the type of tyre I've chosen & the wheels are heavier than standard. But I also get pretty dam good feedback.


If you need lighter steering. without installing power steering. Look at the following things


Tyre pressure
Type of tyre
Weight of wheel
offset of wheel
wheel allingment.
Is there a LSD fitted?

In Standard form the NA6 steering is fairly light. You may need to come up with a compromise somewhere in between.

I will be changing back to 16" shortly which are lighter than my 15"

When driving straight ahead at 100km/h, does the wheel vibrate or does it pull to one side? That is a wheel alignment/balance issue.

You're not talking about bump steer are you? I've read that this can be increased if the suspension is lowered without adjusting the steering column. Worth getting a good wheel alignment done too. I've got a stock NA6 and find the steering to be fine.

Ive got the stock 14" rims and are looking for something with a bit more size.. eg 15" to improve looks and tyres to improve grip yet lighten steering.

It all depends on the tyre.

Sounds like you may have the standard set up. I think they recomend 26psi or 28psi. But I'd be inclined to stick to 32-35psi for a normal perfomance street tyre. I used to run between 26-28 psi on the street with the RT615's but thats a different story.

Sounds like you should also get you allignment checked. Its only going to cost you $80 or so.
Do that first before you buy new wheels & tyres.

But the NB8A rim would be a superb choice.

lower offset means you are widening your track width, which can only be good. I'm persoanllly not the one to ask about low offsets. I have dríven on low offsets & just normal driving it seems fine. I'm not sure how it is on the 100%. I refuse to like & recomend low offsets because of legalities & personal taste.
So if someone would be so kind & tell this gent all about low offsets.

NB8A factory rim fits an NA perfectly. Standard tyre size for that rim is 195/50 15 IIRC.
