Time to upgrade the rotors and just wondering if I can get NB8A items behind the stock rims?

you can , but it's not the best solution as you will get uneven pad wear. if you choose to do this, you also need to swap them left to right and vice versa. i think. it's been discussed a fair bit... matty seems to know all the ins and outs of what works with what and what fits where.
Good point. Its probably a good idea to get them reconditioned while they're out.
Another point is, whats the point of upgrading to the 1.8 disks anyway. The 1.6's are more than adequare for a stock car at the track and a boosted car on the street. If you're tracking a boosted car the you'll need the sport brakes anyway so the 1.8 brakes aren't really worth the effort imo, I've been through this situation before and stuck with the 1.6 brakes and better pads and rotors and they're fantastic, that is until I buy bigger wheels and then eventually big brakes.
If you do upgrade, do front and rear at the same time.
