Toyo Proxes R888 - Discontinued?

Hey guys,

Just got off the phone to my usual tyre supplier who tells me that Toyo are no longer making the R888! :cry: What the....?

Anyone else heard this bad news? And if so, what are people planning to go to next?

Hold the panic buttons - O'Neills at Wallsend have called me back and said I can have the 2 I was after (205/50/15 ) at $245 per tyre in their store today.

Not sure about the ongoing supply still though.

I got quoted $272 for 205/50/15 R888's everyone I asked.... for that price I figured I'd rather just got the Bridgestone RE55S for $304 each. Gordon Levin in the only place to get them though AFAIK.

Cant really relate this to Australia but Toyo R888's have recently been announced as the official tyre of the SCCA series in the US for 2008.

It doesnt make sense that its being discontinued in Aus??

BTW - I think mine are tops!!
