Always try and stay as close as you can to the standard rims weight as they really do affect the MX5's balance and heavy wheels make for a slower car too. Personally I'd go for a set of 15x6-7's on an NA. If you can score a set of 15x6 off an 98-2000 NB8A you'd be set.

really depends what your after... if you want whats best for the car or what looks best on the car... the latter is really upto your tastes

More like up to your wallet size! :mrgreen:

There's some nice looking and lighweight rims out there...just that they cost a bit! :shock:

I 100% agree with Craig, if the rims aren't as light as your stock rims, DON'T BOTHER.

Also you really should try and match the stock offset because that's what the suspension is engineered for.
If you had access to a car like this, would you take it back right away? Neither would I.

Arent wheel spacers illegal in some states?

He doesn't require wheel spacers. In NSW any kind of wheel spacer is illegal unless it came fitted from the factory. The wheel size should fit.

In my opinion.....16\" rimms are the best locking rim. As far as zize is concerned. But 16\" becomes very restrictive when it comes to buying soft compound & semislick type of tyre. But That is not going to be a bother drmx5.

But I'm courious ........what are you expecting to get from a $87.50 tyre ?

hope you're not expecting too much.

That's $87.50 for a rim AND tyre! :shock:

I just hope it doesn't rain or that you need to break heavily whilst you have them on...

err....kinda but not really. He's dad's work is paying for the rims. I'm assuming its costing him $350 for 4 tyers
