You should be able to get excellent tyres for the standard wheels with that budget.

Yokohama C-drives.... for the stock 185/60 (wateva it is) i think its $120 each. I run 195/60 R14 and they are $135ea.
Excellent in the dry and just as good in the wet!
Just run em in for 600km before getting excited.

according to the size avail. C drive & GIII are the only relevant tyres.
The rest don't come in 14\" sizes

Just heed what kitkat said. They do take a while to scrub in.

Hi Everyone,
I'm new to the Forum. You guys have been an absolute almanac of information. javascript:emoticon('')
Mr. Green
Anyway, I'm looking for new tyres for a Clubman I picked up over the weekend.
However I've noticed that there isn't a large selection of performance tyres for 14\" rims. I was utterly dissapointed when I realised the Toyo T1-R's and GSD3's weren't made for 14\" rims!
Anyway, I've shortlisted the possible tyres to:
- Toyo Trampios
- Yokohoma C-Drives
- G3's
What do you guys think of Toyo Trampio's?
Are there any other road tyres you can recommend me? I'm mainly looking for twisty roads as opposed to track racking. So semi slicks are out of the qn

Easy, just get some 98-2000 NB8A MX-5 15x6's and the choices are much better!

I picked up a set of NA wheels and almost new GIIIs off ebay the other day. Haven't put them on the car yet, but I'll let you know what I think when I get a chance.
