I've been trying discpads.com.au but their web site crashes every time you try to proceed to checkout and their phone is disconnected.

Have they gone out of business?

I fitted my ultimates a couple of weeks ago. I to tried to buy them for the bargain price listed on discpads.com however gave up after several weeks of unsuccessful attempts. I ended up buying them from Mania. Simone said there is no way they could match the discpads.com price as this was close to or below cost... so perhaps they have gone bust!

I hope the ultimates are suitable for MX5s . I cannot understand why they would not be.

PS if you have not changed the rear pads on an MX5 before I suggest you have a look at the miata forum beforehand.

bendix ultimates are great!!! work well on the street, wouldnt have clue about the track.
Ive done some pretty heavy mountain passes and im yet to get them to fade.

Very different pad. I have the HP+ on my car and and changing them this weekend for Ultimates for road use as they are VERY noisy and dusty. Great for trackdays but compromised for the street.

I can deal with the noise of the HP+ but not the dust. Whatever you do, don't get the dust wet and leave it (ie, don't drive in the rain), that sh*t sticks like nothing else. I have tried every product and I still have small clumps of brake dust stuck to my wheels.

Oh and I went through a set of slotted rotors in 5 000 kms with the HP+.

I have had the RB74s before and might try them again next time. Or the Cobalts that FRA66L has. I am also considering 280 mm discs and RX7 calipers, as they have a decent range of pads available (unlike the MX5)

Thanks to all of you for the advice.

Repco at Richmond will get them in for me in a day. They were pretty generous too once we had a little talk about why I wanted Ultimates and I told them it was club sprints. They brought price down to close to what the website-in-a-shed operators wanted.

If they're more convenient to you I've heard along the way that SuperCheap Auto are holding MX-5 Ultimate stock too.
