Tyre life was cut by about 33% (Still more than half tread on outside, nearly bald on inside) on my previous NB8A at 1.5 degrees. Wouldn't recommend it if you're concerned about tyre life. Might have improved cornering during daily driving, but that's only using the bumometer.

Not sure who your mechanic is but though this bit of actual evidence may help you, noting that you didn’t say if you had the NC aligned to the numbers you posted.
I have now done over 18,500 kilometres made up of normal driving and 5 track days. I have run upto -2.5 degrees camber on the rear and -2 degrees on the front. Current setup is -2.0F, -2.1R. I still have plenty of legal tread depth though there is slightly more wear on the inside than the outside. I estimate if I don’t do any more track days I will get about 25,000 kilometres out of these tyres. If I hadn’t done track but just ran the alignment I suspect that they would have easily seen in 40,000+ klms.
The correct setting for your NC with the Eibachs should be:
Front Camber -1.01 degrees
Front Castor 6.36 degrees
Total toe in 2mm
Rear Camber – 1.56 degrees
Total toe in 3mm

I heard somewhere that having more negative rear camber results in less rear end grip? That doesn't sound right does it?
I'm running -1.75 camber /2mm toe at the front, and rears were left at Lou (Straight Talk Suspension)'s default settings (which I think is -1.25/2mmish). Front camber was originally at -1.5 but I found that with my retarded babboon driving style I was still wearing the outsides of my tyres quicker than the insides

don't be afraid to start a new topic, using a descriptive title e.g. "Where to Source Eibachs in Sydney". Then you'll have no need to apologize for attempted hijack, and you'll be more likely to have someone who has appropriate information read your message than if it's hidden away under a thread about wheel alignements and tyre wear.
