I'm in the process of puttin NB8B/C calipers on the blue car and am missing the 4 anti-rattle clips off the pads.

Mazda will only sell them with new calipers and at $2100 a pair I said thanks but no thanks.

I've tried 4 Mazda service departments that all say no we don't have any. And I've called numerous wreckers all of whom won't split the calipers they have.

I was also short 2 front clips that luckly I was able to get from one of Dick Richeys mates, but alas no clips for the rear.

If anyone has some clips floating around their shed (maybe from old siezed calipers) and would be prepared to part with them I would be forever indebted.

For that matter if anyone is going to a service department could you ask your local service guys if they have any.

Unfortunately I don't know what they look like as the calipers I have didn't come with any at all. All I know is the old NB8A clips don't work in the new NB8B/C calipers.

Any leads or help would be appreciated.

EDIT** In answer to the deleted post
, the \"squealers\" are on the back of the pad, then looping back around the side. I can understand why you would take them off, the blue car did a further 30000 k's after the fronts started squealing.
The clips I'm in need of are not the squealers. The anti-rattle clips sit between the alignment slots on the pads and the matching grooves on the sides of the caliper.

Some brake people say you can run without the anti-rattle clips on the front, however as the e-brake is on the back the clunking can be a bit disconcerting and they recommend fitting them. **/EDIT

You can buy a heat proof rubbery solution in a bottle (PRB Product from memory) from brake shops to cure pad rattle - apply to back of pad then fit. Used to use it on my Alfasud brakes.

Okibi, the url you posted doesn't help mate, they are for the stock brakes and are the same as the ones I have (NB8A or non-sport B/C).

Well I fitted them up on the wheel without any clips and with the e-brake on the car can be rocked back and forth about 30mm with a loud clunk at the extremes.

I don't mind them rattling during application, but at a standstill I'm not convinced they should be left off.

alfasud brakes. Aaaah memories of inboard smoke and fire! went to 16v 33 vented (and slotted) outboards and brake fade is now a distant memory...

the stuff you are talking about works well - always used it on the alfas and my work cars.

Ok I have just modified the original 8A's and all seems good, no rattle no clunk.
