There was a NB parked near my house the other night which had a set of 17 inch G-games on it. The car was silver and the wheels were 5 spoke silver lip with a dark grey centre. Quite similar style to the SSR rims too. It looked fantastic!

I know that the genuine rims are $$$ but the copies are quite cheap.... and from what I've been told relatively light for the size.

Nath

PS: having said that would you consider the racing hart 17s off an SE? Bloody light, look the goods, $1600 from mania and would look nice on your NB.

Hi Adam,

The rims I was thinking about are these ones:

Can understand not liking the Racing Harts... although I would love a set on my NA!

Hope to catch up soon too. Keen for that southern blast?

Go to the Tempe Tyres website.

http://www.tempetyres.com.au/index.asp

Under packages I think you'll find what you're looking for including prices.

SSR has been bought over by Tanabe

If you havent placed an order on those RS GTs then you could possibly try asking these places about SSR rims:

http://www.wheelspin.com.au/
http://bt-revolution.com/
http://www.jdmyard.com/

I haven't done any business with these guys but have had correspondence with them. They are pretty helpful with info.

Here's a speccy I found for NB owners the other day. Speedy's are usually reasonably light too.

I do like the SSR's though, very nioce indeed. Let us know if you find someone who can get them. 8)

tell me if I'm wrong but I think I won't be getting much change (if at all) from $400 a rim for SSR's?

Gilly, the 17x7.5 SSR's have a RRP of 47,000yen so there won't be much change from $550 and thats not including shipping

Another alternative is to source second hand wheels from the yahoo auctions in japan and get someone (like the vendors listed above) to arrange pickup and shipping. You can get some absolute bargains but the disadvantages are that you cannot inspect the goods and it can sometimes take ages to get to australia! I went this route and it took nearly 12 weeks for delivery of my enkei wheels.

It's unfortunate that it cost so damn much to get any of those jap wheels :(

That's Enkei light!!! I also noticed a few 16x8 in 4x100 with offsets in the mid 30s too. These did not exist a couple of years ago when I was first looking. Might be time for a new set of boots!

Yeah they're forged, so are sooper light, well sorta forged. They are made using a process called "semi solid forging" whatever that is :D The ones you want are the Type C...that's the light one the racers use in Japan.

If you had access to a car like this, would you take it back right away? Neither would I.
