Should have come out to the dodgy day, there was a special on replacing brake fluid :) One was new lines and another was replacing the fluid. Both jobs were done with this tool. Key is to make sure the nipple is open far enough to start sucking the fluid, then tighten the nipple up so the fluid is drawn through. Then do as per normal, with the trigger pulled open/close the nipple to suck out the air.

On the car with the replaced brake lines we used the 'normal' method after the vacuum and there was only a few very small air bubbles. ManiacLachy and MXO005 are still alive (I think) so it does work.

Send me a PM if you need assistance, happy to let you use my shed to do the work. As much as I hate working on other people's brakes I will help.

Thanks for the offer Magpie.

I'll attempt what I'm confident with first and see how I go.

Just an (uneducated  ) thought. Could it be the brake pads are thicker than normal? Could explain hard clamping with minimal pedal travel?

I'm starting to think that perhaps the bed in process was done a little half arsed.
I'm going to give them a little work out Saturday morning.
